New Jersey rocker Jon Bon Jovi has spoken publicly for the first time about his daughter's arrest and alleged heroin overdose at Hamilton College last week.
Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, 19, was found unresponsive at the Clinton, N.Y. school where she's a student. Investigators found heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a dorm room, but drug charges were later dropped.

I’m a conservative and two of my three children got heavily into drugs. Children don’t always listen to their parents, no matter what their political beliefs. I feel sorry for any parent who goes through this nightmare.
Imagine showing up to school and finding your roommate for the next year has brought heroin to school.

Bon Jovi himself has had “problems” in the past.
The point is, YOU knew.
He claims he didn’t.

Actually my daughter was on meth for several years before I knew because I didn’t know anything about meth. She has been clean for a year and a half, has had the same job for that time and the same boyfriend for over a year. I thank God every day that she isn’t dead, because there was a time I prepared myself for “the call”.
Please don’t be so quick to condemn someone because you don’t agree with their politics. She is still his daughter and I assume he loves her dearly.

And Bon Jovi’s politics certainly did NOT help his kid any.

She wasn’t perfect.
