I stood in line for an hour and a half to vote, and got Obama for another four years. As a result, the Kenyan-licking GOP, headed by that wine-guzzling, drippy-eyed Oompa-Loompa named John Boehner, could not WAIT to cave. Boehner has been falling all over himself to give Obama what he wants.

The Dem party stands firm on its “principles” and fights like a bunch of pit bulls, never giving an inch. The GOP, however, refuses to fight. When the game is “who blinks first”, we know it will ALWAYS be the Republicans.

This was supposed to be the most important election of my lifetime. So it won’t matter whether I stick with the GOP or not. If 2016 brings a solid conservative candidate, and I believe that’s an absolute pipe dream, I’ll vote. Otheerwise I’m done with these Vichy backstabbers.

Amen, except it’s not “in question”. It’s imperative.

Republicans once opposed to any new revenue...

And responses here are filled with the knee-jerk, sky is falling empty threats and tantrums as usual.

Actually KITV/MSNBC, Republicans DID NOT oppose "any new revenue" they have repeatedly disagreed with Obama how to get new revenue. They offered cutting deductions, closing loopholes and growing the economy while Obama's stuck on stupid.... err on raising rates.

The republican’s oft stated excuse for folding, (so the media will like them more), is absurd.

They don’t understand that conservative’s view of them should matter most, as we outnumber the socialists. And THIS crap is infuriating us!

Change your affiliation to Independent.

Soon, there will be a Dept. of Equalization. This cabinet secretary or czar will be responsible for insuring equal outcomes for all of the people.

Things that tyrannies are made from, and history repeating itself...again.

Our own history tells us that it took 33% of the population to defeat a superpower. Our history also shows the second time, when it was 50-50, we all lost.

Unfortunately, methinks history will repeat itself...again.

The GOP are the Judenrat for the MarxoFascists.

If you want what is left of your liberty to survive - you better understand that.

Worse is coming. And the Judenrat GOP is going to be the arm of imposition for the MarxoFascists.

To the ovens they are going to send us all, thinking they get a seat at the table of power and survive.

Maybe it’s a good strategy for Republicans to let Obama have his way with the near-term taxing and spending. Not agree with him but sort of allow themselves to be defeated.

Then when our economy sinks lower and masses of people get really mad at government, Obama will get all of the blame.

Government leadership through our financial crisis is no-win. This is a great time for Republicans to have Obama “lead”.

“...The “rich” already DO pay more taxes. A LOT more, in fact....”

And so do most Americans, but not enough to pay for the over-arching welfare state that the majority of American voters seem to prefer. I’m with Mark Steyn. If the U.S. wants a Canadian-style welfare state (total government spending as a percentage of GDP is only 1% less in the U.S. than Canada)it must be willing to pay for it. Only when the Sheeple learn good and hard how much a Euro-socialist welfare costs will they respond to counter-conservative arguments.

We lost the last election round for a host of reasons but none so great as the government’s ability to spend manically while keeping the taxpayers immune from its effects through debt accumulation and central bank money printing. Left to their own devices, the voters will happily allow this arrangement to continue until it collapses under its own weight. Don’t blame John Boehner for this. It’s merely a fact of human nature.

It is not “conservative” in my mind to persist in the delusion that the people will vote to reduce the size of a government that they are not paying for, or at least not enough for. To do so would make us complicit in the demise of this great republic out of some mis-guided attraction of “low” taxes. That battle is lost. Let’s go over the cliff; achieve some real spending cuts (yes including the Pentagon);compell everyone to feed Leviathon and then work to convince them to slay him.

You can’t sell the low-tax, small government soap if your constumers are being offered low-tax, big-government soap by your competitors. Now the competition is offering to raise the price of its soap if we simply move aside and let them go over the cliff. I SAY WE SHOULD STEP ASIDE AND LET THEM PROCEED LIKE THE LEMMINGS THEY ARE.

How Much in Gross Sales does the owner of a corner convenience store have to generate in order to cross the threshold of being “The Evil Rich” according to these clowns? While they’re living in the apartment upstairs from the shop?

$1/4 Million income is now the threshold identifier of greedy, rich, oppressors of the poor?

What I really appreciate is how Boehner and the GOP leadership have held press conferences and gone on national TV to explain directly to the American people that (a) increasing taxes on the top 2% of wage earners will feed the federal government for an additional eight days; and (b) taxng the top 2% at 100% and confiscating 100% of their wealth will feed the govenment for less than a year. Oh wait, never mind.

Yes, Nov. 6th, 2012 is an historic day that will live in infamy.

I think it’s time for someone to start an “American Patriots’ Party”.

That party would collect money to help conservative candidates win Republican primaries and then win the elections. That party would NOT contribute one penny to fund the GOP’s shameful in-bred “establishment”.

Clearly, ELECTIBLE conservatives are needed. By that, I mean people who are smart enough to see the rape-related word-traps so eagerly set by the stooge-media and AVOID stepping into them.

People who are smart enough to say to those stooges, “Your question has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the critical issue of today: how do we stop this White House from pushing America’s Middle Class deeper and deeper into poverty. Take Obama-flation for example. That is a HUGE TAX on America’s Middle Class. Or do you think that the Middle Class doesn’t buy food? Or that retired folks don’t buy gasoline?

sending Boehner to the back benches (and an early tee time and happy hour).

I've known Boehner for over 25 years, see him at Rotary events in the area and golf at our golf course.

I have never seen John without a cigarette or martini in his hand. I don't think he's alcoholic, but a heavy drinker, typical of the German-Americans that populate the Cincinnati area. He is always under the influence, whether 9am or 9pm but I've never seen him drunk.

Not just the rich. Just got an email from my employer, taxes for 2013 increase in Social security (up 2%), SS wage base up (110,100 to 113,700/4642.20 to 7049.40), Medicare part A payroll tax up 0.9% (1.45% to 2.35%). The 10% income tax bracket is eliminated; The lowest will be 15%. The top four brackets increase:

25% to 28%
28% to 31%
33% to 36%
35% to 39.6%

and that doesn’t include the health care insurance increases!

Welcome to Obama world.

Who COULD do so? Paul Ryan? Not Eric Cantor. Who else in the real conservatives that have been purged by Boehner. He purged them to keep his own nasty little seat. This is a wide field of battle, all the while battling the lying socialists on both sides. There HAS to be a way to begin the march up from this point.

It starts at the state levels. And repeal of Amendment 17, no more “direct” election of Senators, allowing international and national business interests to compromise the candidate. Bring politics closer to the people the Senator is to represent. State legislatures vote for the Senator— the people know who their immediate state legislators are— and can get to them quickly. This should never have happened. Interesting that the 17th amendment was ratified by states the same year the Federal Reserve Bank was approved by the Congress.

Obviously, you get it, as does anyone who's ever run a small shop. That used to be the American Dream. Now it's Envy Time, All the Time in Obama's America. And there's no challenge from the Gutless Old Party, anymore, whose leaders are a species of invertebrate castrati.

America the Beautiful is becoming America the Dumb. Our schools are run by socialists, as is our news media, and most of our politicians, too. Together, they have worked tirelessly to turn a nation of hard-working immigrants and dreamers into a roiling mob of Gimme Girls and Loafing Louts.

A people for whom once no dream ever seemed to be too big, presently wallow in the shallow and the small. The "huddled masses" of old now can't get off their increasingly fat asses to find the remote, but instead just sit and let their brains be rotted from without and from within with mindless entertainment, and news-less news.

And we who yet spend time thinking about such things at length just shake our heads, wondering why our carefully reasoned arguments about taxes, spending, Constitutional government and timeless values seem to pass through people's ears and out into space without even a moment's pause.

It's because "the people" have been prepared. Not for self-governance. Not for independence. Not for success.

For tyranny. And they're going to love it. By the way, Mr. Boehner: Homeland Security called. Your remote is under the couch.

As a self- employed full charge bookkeeper:

I am giving out this free advice. I don’t claim to be a fiscal expert, nor a CPA, nor do I admit to having a crystal ball....but:

IF I were your bookkeeper, Mr. “Rich”, I would recommend the following:

Depending on the type of business you are running, most likely one which you built from the ground up, I would browse the parking lot and the Facebook pages of all of your employees. I would lay off ALL of the Obamaites you are now providing with a paycheck.

They are your ENEMY!! Do not be fooled....I said ENEMY and I meant ENEMY!!! They are voting with their precious votes to destroy you and the company you built that provides them with the funds to even purchase that Obama bumper sticker—to put on the car they bought with the money you pay them!!

Another option is to pay yourself ONLY the minimum you require to pay your monthly existance. Mentally, put aside the extra money you would normally pay yourself or in Accounts payable or something & when these stupid tax laws get reversed, make up the difference to yourself.

Look long and hard at the CORE employees you have. Every business has them. They have been with you the longest and are the most dependable to work when there is an emergency & to be accurate in their work. Hand out bonuses to them—quietly and privately. Most likely, they are not in the higher tax bracket you are, and paying them a bonus will support more loyalty. This is a BONUS—NOT a permanent pay hike. Attach it to company profit, which makes them aware of being careful with company expeditures. This will also divert funds on which you will pay a higher tax into a bracket that is much lower. In other words: Get it out of the hands of the Fed government on YOUR tax return.

Make sure that you and your immediate family are taken care of, and I don’t mean with endless funds to spend willy-nilly. Put all of them on a limited budget and stay there. They all have to realize that this is an austerity move, and that your family is not part of ‘The Housewives of Orange County’. I know many people who have built up their businesses and have enjoyed the ability to travel, gamble, or do as they wish with the funds they have. Now is the time to starve the beast of Washington.

Got a teenager who doesn’t cut the lawn because you are paying a lawn service? Tell that kid that they are now the official lawn service!! Trips to the tanning salon are no longer needed because this kid will be out in the real sunshine—mowing the lawn!

Take a look at the cell phones and other electronic items that seem to now be surgically attached to your entire family. Cut down tht usage—or put them on a pay as you go phone usage. Give them an allowance and when that money is gone, they cannot keep buying ‘minutes’ on their phones.

Look long and hard at all of your current charitable donations. Write a long letter to each of those recipients of your largess and tell them exactly why you will NOT be sending them any funds this year—or again in the near future. Even the heads of such groups need to understand why voting for the dictator, Obama, wasn’t a good idea. Many ‘rich’ people make many charitable donations to avoid paying the taxes. I predict that those donations will drop dramatically in the next 2 years.

I know a couple of men who are laying off literally half of their people and they’re only retaining the best of their clients. They are cherry picking those who are not a hassle and who pay on time. The problem employees and problem clients will be set adrift. The core center of the business will be kept alive. The rest will be amputated.

Does your business pay for ‘key man’ insurance now? It needs to do so. IF anything happens to you, the company will benefit. Look into what other kinds of life insurance are not taxable when you are gone.

Can you open a ‘college fund’ for your grandkids? I think some of that is deposited before taxes. Some states even have a fund that you can buy a college education NOW for their young grandkid at today’s prices. When kid goes to college, it is already paid for. IF they die or don’t wish to do to that college, most of your money is refunded.

Or look into doing something similar with a family trust.

Have a long consult with your best CPA or tax attorney.

You have a right to keep alive what you built. Even if the whole thing is scaled down for awhile.

When she finally drank herself to death at 57, I was standing in line at the funeral home, greeting guests who came to pay their respects. Many of the little ladies who were there kept asking what my mother died from. I said acute alcoholism. They tried to tell me that my mother didn’t drink.

I told every one of them that they probably had NEVER seen my mother sober......

Even I hadn’t seen her sober many times in my 24 years.

It doesn’t matter what the republicans do, they’ll be blamed no matter what. With the help of the media they’re in a no win situation. Same thing goes for Tea-Party which I was hoping would replace the Republican party. There’s just simply too many obstacles standing in the way for truth, justice, common sense, etc. to prevail. Several quotes I’d like to share:

So this is how Liberty dies... with thunderous applause ~ Star Wars

When the People find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the Republic. ~ Ben Franklin

I predict future happiness for Americans,if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. ~ Thomas Jefferson

When the People fear the government there is tyranny; When the government fears the People there is Liberty. ~ Thomas Jefferson

I understand what you’re saying; however, I’d be a lot more well-disposed to letting the lemmings rush to the river if they didn’t insist on taking me with them.

Well said. I look on wealth as something the “rich” have and income something the middle class has. With wealth you can control your taxable income.
