Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) took a public shot at House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) Tuesday night, in the wake of a shake-up that knocked a small group of conservatives off prominent committees.
Justin Amash ✔ @repjustinamash Still waiting for call from GOP leadership. Are they too embarrassed to explain they booted me for working to reduce debt? 4 Dec 12 ReplyRetweetFavorite
Amash, a libertarian-leaning conservative, was taken off the House Budget Committee. Tea party-backed Rep. Tim Huelskamp (Kan.) was taken off Budget and Agriculture. Reps. Walter Jones (N.C.), a rare moderate, and David Schweikert (Ariz.) lost their spots on the Financial Services Committee. Amash, Huelskamp and Schweikert were all first elected in the 2010 Republican wave.

Are you familiar with the terms “analogy” and “hyperbole?”
True enough, Boner isn’t literally as bad as Stalin - though we don’t really know what he’d do given unfettered power.
But are you also familiar with the phrase “damning with faint praise?”
Would you feel better if the poster, rather than use the shorthand term “Stalinist,” used the more literally apt term “unprincipled lying RINO weasel turncoat collaborator dirtbag who would sell his first-born into slavery for a flattering article in the New York Times or a highway project in his district?”
Doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.
Yes, that would be correct.
“extreme”. That is a tell. Obviously your reading ,digesting and believing lefty material.
Unfortunately, we TOLD the GOP-e that we would accept whatever they did when we agreed to support Romney.
FReepers, if you haven’t ready #28 in its entirety, I recommend it.
Over the top Hyperbole, yes. I agree that Boehner is not Stalin. But he is TERRIBLE as Speaker. That was the point they were trying to make.
Boehner may not send people directly to their deaths like Stalin did, but the end result of his caving on many things (like 0bamacare) will end in death for many. Sarah Palin was spot on when she talked about death panels.
Leftwing economic policies - which Boehner is not doing enough to block - will rob many people of their income and their retirement savings. It will cause further job losses and with job loss there will be loss of medical coverage. (And 0bamacare will not fix this. It will make it worse.)
All of those bad economic factors will lead to deaths, too. The mammogram you skipped because you couldn’t afford it after you lost your job. The colonoscopy you skipped because your company cut you back to part time because of the 0bamacare mandate. Hollywood won’t make a movie about this with sad-eyed children or puppies or spotted owls that make people cry. But real people will feel the effects - up to and including death. A lot of those people will be greatgrandmas.
Not every death caused by a political leader comes dramatically from a bullet or a gas chamber. Those we decry. But the solitary, silent deaths that go unnoticed one by one, scattered across the country add up.
The American people are solidly behind the raising of taxes and Obama knows it. I see Obama as trying to install himself as dictator and by this unreasonable demand that he have unlimited powers to raise the debt ceiling without congress tells me all I need to know about Obama. If Republicans cave on that (which I don't think they will) we need to have an all out rebellion BUT Obama KNOWS he has the American people behind him and Republicans are in the minority. Obama is evil but the press is behind him.
Most Americans are so dumbed down they don't see it coming, but the politicians who are capitulating to the forces working to destroy the US will also be directly responsible. Some know it and are all for it and some are just tools. I would put Boehner in the 2nd catagory
If I deserve to be banned because my thoughts offend you then perhaps we are both on the wrong forum.
What you said in this post is a long way from what you said previously.
Obama is far closer to Stalin than Boehner.
I don’t think you understood what I was telling granny. She claims that criticizing Boehner was being done by extremists. Using the word the way the left does.
Like you, I suspect we have come to within months if not weeks of deciding. Do we die on our knees or on our feet?
