Florida Sen. Marco Rubio declared in an exclusive Newsmax TV interview that the nation’s middle-class consumers will be hardest hit by President Barack Obama’s proposed tax increases.

“When you raise taxes, the money has to come out of the private economy,” Rubio, the first-term GOP senator, tells Newsmax. “It’s coming out of a business somewhere, whose taxes are going to go up. … What we need to make clear to people is that these taxes that the president’s proposing to raise is going to hit a lot of small businesses and mid-sized businesses that pay on their personal rate.” …

I’m getting tired of these GOP politicians telling us over and over again how Obama’s tax increases will destroy the middle class. Its time they man up and start telling us WHY Obama is doing this. Just come right out and say the words. Quote Marx for us and explain that Obama and his fellow travellers are doing this intentionally to destroy the working people’s trust in the free market and capitalism so we’ll join with the looter class in demanding MO FREE STUFF!

Rubio is even a Cuban, so he can speak with authority on the pain that is caused when you transform a free market into a “Workers’ Paradise”.

Its time we got this dialogue going someplace other than FR and Townhall.com. Let the Leftist media come unhinged for the “blatant racism” of calling Obama out on his Marxist beliefs.

When business taxes rise, they raise prices to pay them. A simple concept that liberals cannot grasp.

“When business taxes rise, they raise prices to pay them. “

Not all businesses can “pass-along” tax increases through pricing. This is especially true in the short-term, and for small- businesses.

Classic Supply vs. Demand tells us that increasing price levels will force things further down the Demand-curve. Less business activity has longer term implications for big-business, too.

They are afraid of being labeled racists, afraid of attacking a black man. If I were Rubio I would re-introduce the N word into our national vocabulary. Time to tear down the walls of PC and “racism”.

We know that Rubio. You were elected to DO something about it; so do it instead of jawing all the time.

...the nation’s middle-class consumers will be hardest hit by President Barack Obama’s proposed tax increases.

1.) So good of the Republicans to notice.

2.) President You Didn't Build That's tax and "Affordable Health Care Act" schemes were designed to punish normal people who create, build, invent, work hard, save, improve, and generally try to make genuine progress in live. Thus far, they're very successful.

UHn huh and Classic margin to profit ratio says you can only bleed red so long....

Here’s the it will absolutely go and I’ve already heard from a few friends. When the tax actually starts eating into to them by another 10% someone’s getting let go and they will make do with one less employee.

But no one should really worry. Just an adjustment period.

Might be the case if the taxes were raised only on a portion of the small businesses, but all will be affected and the prices will be raised by all. Big businesses will raise them because of the tax increases and because they can.

“They” voted for it. Let them bear the consequences. Maybe they’ll learn something.

All of these businesses closing up will be re-opened with “Minority/Women Owned Business” loans; massive wealth re-distribution. It isn’t hard to boycott a lot of businesses today, as it is in our own self-interests to pay down debt/save money anyway.

Restaurants/pizzerias have certainly seen a slump since my family started tightening thier belts a few years back; a lot of Obama voters are going on the dole as these places close (and they do close).

The Chicken Little sky is falling talk is ridiculous. The world is not going to end because marginal tax rates go up a few percentage points. More damage is being done due to ObamaCare and all the regulations coming out.

Larger businesses yes.

However, a small business has a difficult time passing along increased costs.

As a small business owner, whenever I had a tax increase, I laid people off and my wife and I worked longer hours to get the work done.

I am now down to just me and my wife. So, any tax increases means I cut my household/business budgets.

As usual, to politicians, the problem is always that "greedy corporations and wealthy people" are not paying their "fair share." It is never that the government is spending too much.
