What the Bible says about a Palestinian state
WND ^ | December 05, 2012 | Joel Richardson

Exclusive: Joel Richardson sees prophets declaring 'utter devastation' on PA territories

On Nov. 29, 2012, 138 nations passed U.N. Resolution 67/19 on “The Question of Palestine.” The resolution expresses support for the right of “the Palestinian people … to their independent State of Palestine.”

In light of this deeply profound and historical event, and in light of the overwhelming and global bias against the nation of Israel, it is essential that all students of the Bible stop to consider what the Bible says about the future of both the nation of Israel and “Palestine.”

When one surveys the many biblical passages that speak of the return of the Messiah, it quickly becomes apparent that among the primary issues Jesus returns to confront is the persecution, marginalization and unjust treatment of Israel by the nations of the earth. Despite the fact that the anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist propaganda of the age are widely embraced even by large segments of the Christian Church, the Bible is clear that when Jesus returns, he will specifically execute judgment against the enemies of Israel.

According to the prophet Joel, just prior to the return of Jesus, a vast number of nations will invade Israel and surround the city of Jerusalem. Joel tells us that Jesus will execute judgment against all parties involved in this invasion as well as any who force the dividing of His land:

When Jacob/Israel becomes the patriarch whose name, “he who prevails with God,” continues forever in the Church, which is called “the Israel of God” (Gal. 6:16). The People of God will forever “prevail with God” in the image of the patriarch Jacob.

It will be interesting to see how Egypt plays out. However it ends, it will set the tone for the rest of the region.

The Bible says nothing about the “palestinian state”. What is does do is give the borders of the state of Israel that the will again during the millennium. It isn’t good news for Egypt, Jordan or the “palestinians”

The way prophetic things are happening I think we all should be looking real busy when He comes.

I heard a popular TV Preacher once claim that it says 800 times in the bible that Jerusalem belongs to the Jew.

I have not taken the time to verify this but it would not surprise me one bit.

Just a question --- from one who supports Isael on secular grounds, but has a sincere puzzlement about the Biblical testimony:

Is a secular-democratic state where less than 50% of the population consists of religious-Torah-faithful Jews, the actual state that God promises to defend?

Who was the poet who wrote?

“How odd of God
to choose the Jews.”

Supposedly a Brit journalist named William Norman Ewer, for whom this is his only claim to fame. And then there are the witty repartees:

Not odd of God.
Goyim annoy ‘im.

– attributed to Leo Rosen. Or:

But not so odd
As those who choose
A Jewish God
Yet spurn the Jews.

– written by either Cecil Brown or Ogden Nash.

But I repeat: is a secular democratic Middle Eastern state populated by less than 50% religious observant Jews, really the one that's "Biblical" or chosen by God?

"Is this it, or are we to look for another?"?

"...Is a secular-democratic state where less than 50% of the population consists of religious-Torah-faithful Jews, the actual state that God promises to defend?"

Yes, it is. The Jews have no choice in their belief-structure. God has made the Jews blind to Jesus' Truth (that He is the Messiah, and one true Son of God), and will allow Israel to believe only when it suits His Divine Plan to do so.

For God alone is in control of all good works, and the Author of all good things.

You might have as easily asked, "How did they know over 2,000 years ago that, in the Year of Our Lord 1012, the tiny Nation-State of Israel would not only still be around——surrounded on all sides by her enemies, no less——but that Israel would "...hang like a millstone (heavy burden) around the neck of the world..."

"tis far more 'twixt Heaven and Earth, Horatio..."

Thanks, this gives me lots to think about.

Not saying I'm agreeing, mind you: I'm saying I'm thinking.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I’m not sure if this is going to answer your question, but I’ll give it a shot. (BTW, I won’t be able to reply again until tomorrow.)

Jeremiah 31:31-40 A New Covenant

31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,[a] says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

35 Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The Lord of hosts is His name):

36 “If those ordinances depart
From before Me, says the Lord,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease
From being a nation before Me forever.”

37 Thus says the Lord:

“If heaven above can be measured,
And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
I will also cast off all the seed of Israel
For all that they have done, says the Lord.

38 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the city shall be built for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. 39 The surveyor’s line shall again extend straight forward over the hill Gareb; then it shall turn toward Goath. 40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.”

"Not saying I'm agreeing, mind you: I'm saying I'm thinking."

Nothing to agree to or disagree with, Ma'am. Those weren't opinions, those were simple matter-of-record facts. But it's good that you're thinking in any event.

The “Israel of God” is the nation of Israel.

Any ‘church’ that clains to be The “Israel of God” is in reality the Synogogue of Satan.
