So, Why Don't We Ask For An Immediate 15% tax Hike on All "Rich" Federal Workers?

So, Obama is fixated - to the point of a "religious" Crusading zealotry - with raising taxes on the rich?

(Even if it means reducing total tax revenues by stifling the economy, sending us back into an ever-steady recession.)

OK. So, even if it won't clear the deficit, why don't we " raise taxes on the rich" ... by passing an immediate, across the board "progressive" tax on all non-defense federal employees and retirees?

Anyone making a total of over $150,000.00 per year (bonus and salary and retirements) gets a 15% tax.

Anyone making a total of over $100,000.00 per year (bonus and salary and retirements) gets a 10% tax.

Anyone making a total of over $75,000.00 per year (bonus and salary and retirements) gets a 5% tax.

And, anyone paying more than 50% of their adjusted gross income in total taxes (federal, medicare, Social Security, state, local, property, sales taxes, natural gas and heating oil and electric taxes, telephone taxes, sewage taxes, gasoline taxes and tire recycling fees and garbage taxes and professional registration taxes and all else, is capped with an "alternative Maximum Tax" of 50%.

Once you pay 50% of your income in taxes, you stop paying.

“Here’s your first problem ~ the top ticket people you want to tax more are mostly holders of advanced degrees who actually can walk across the street to get another job.”

While I proposed salary cuts, not taxes, your point is the same.

I was thinking of starting with Congress and the Mis-Administration - lead by example.

Fact of Life - If Congress with or without Obozo don’t deal with the spending problem, the financial markets (where they will have to go with their tin cups) will eventually solve their problem for them. Then there won’t be any jobs across the street for the scientists or physicians period. Better they walk to something now, than nothing later. The Big Spenders in DC are the ones that made the mess; they hired good people whom they can’t afford. With all the other wasteful spending they do, not my problem to help perpetuate failed liberal programs.
