Gingrich to GOP Leaders: “Go Over the Cliff”
Newsmax ^ | Thursday, 06 Dec 2012 10:56 AM | Greg McDonald

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says it would be better for Republicans to take that dive off the so-called fiscal cliff on Dec. 31, rather than “cave in” to President Barack Obama on tax increases.

The Georgia Republican also suggested that GOP leaders in Congress “should be prepared” if necessary to force a government shutdown to get the deep spending cuts they want.

“I think it’s a huge mistake for House Republicans to cave in and try to find some kind of desperate solution that doesn't work,” Gingrich told Fox News’ Sean Hannity Wednesday night. …

He is 100% right. The GOP thinks that they will receive accolades IF they cave. WRONG. Obama will get the praise. If they hold tight and force a shutdown, they WILL get creamed by the media.

SO WHAT??? Either way, the GOP will not win any type of war with the MSM or the majority of the soundbite swallowing sheeple. So, stop trying to be liked, and DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR AMERICA!

Um Newt...

That’s like going outside in the morning and commanding the sun to rise.

It’s like going outside during a rainstorm and commanding water to fall from the sky.

Why would the democrats ever agree to not go over the cliff? It’s literally everything they want and more and it was given to them by the champion negotiators of the GOP who give the democrats 100% of what they want and 0% of what conservatives want EVERY SINGLE TIME.

In fact the only way I can see the democrats agreeing not to go over the cliff is if they can sucker the stupid party into giving it even more, such as presidential authority to raise the debt ceiling and presidential authority to raise tax rates, because if you increase debt you have to be able to pay for it too, and we don’t need to play this tax rate game every single time our government saviors want to do something for us, now do we?

And once we do go over the cliff, the GOP will be blamed for it, and as well they should as they are a bunch of ****ing idiots.

The GOP should immediately call for the Bush tax cuts to be made permanent.

I do know one thing about this, I wouldn’t let Obama go on vacation. I’d make him pay for this con game he’s running. Obama is just a Shill and even Shills like to enjoy their ill-gotten gains. Make him stay in Washington. See how he likes it when the wife starts complaining about how they never get a vacation and it would be good for the kids and.....

Like him or not, Newt Gingrich KNOWS what he's talking about.

His own experience of operating in the midst of the den of snakes and thieves called WASHINGTON politics gives him the experience and credibility to make such a statement.

The problem is ALL the "nadless" idiots who are swayed and governed by the image that will be painted by the MSM if they do not capitulate.

Unfortunately, we're playing a game of chicken with most of the "chickens" representing the Republicans.

Exactly. Pass a bill that ALL of them become permanent. Tell Obama that's the last and best offer the GOP will give him, close down the House and head off to the holiday break. GOPers are going to get the blame no matter what the fallout is, so make it memorable by calling Obama's bluff.

Newt, remember August/September 2011? The threat to shut down the government didn’t go so well then. What on earth would make you believe it will be any different this time? They don’t call the GOP the stupid party for nothing.

Doing the same thing repeatedly, expecting a different result is the definition of Gingrichism.

You should check some facts.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx
Obama’s lowest approval rating was in September 2011. He was rightly blamed for the downgrade of US debt (which is a good reason he should be fired... oh I forgot he works in Washington). Congress always has an approval rating of less than 20%, but it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with whether people vote for a Republican congress next time around. I agree with Newt.

Absolutely, nothing more to lose.

Newt is right, but Boehner will probably just say to Newt "I'm the Speaker Now", shut up.
