As we debate whether the two parties can ever come together and get things done, here’s something President Obama could probably do by himself that would be a signal accomplishment of his presidency: End the war on terror. Or, more realistically, start planning and preparing the country for phasing it out.
For 11 years, the United States has been operating under emergency wartime powers granted under the 2001 “Authorization for Use of Military Force.” That is a longer period than the country spent fighting the Civil War, World War I and World War II combined. It grants the president and the federal government extraordinary authorities at home and abroad, effectively suspends civil liberties for anyone the government deems an enemy and keeps us on a permanent war footing in all kinds of ways.

For starters, eliminate the EPA, Dept. of Education, energy dept., HUD, and any other unconstitutional commissions and FIRE EVERYONE THAT WORKS FOR THEM!!!!
I personally don’t see the point anymore when it would be a lot cheaper to keep them out of America and let them go back to killing each other.
As it is we face as much danger from our “allies” in the mideast as we do the enemy.
It shouldn’t be called war on terror, sorry but´s that’s just typical political correctness, we are a war with Islam, and yes we need a war on Islam.

Since many or maybe everyone has never heard of him, I looked him up. The author proclaims on his website that:
“Fareed Zakaria hosts CNN’s flagship foreign affairs show, is Editor-at-Large of TIME Magazine, a Washington Post columnist, and a New York Times bestselling author. Esquire Magazine called him “the most influential foreign policy adviser of his generation.”
and his site includes some fairly well-written articles that distort things rather severely insofar as America (and some other important matters) are concerned. If he is so “influential” then we are in trouble...

We could start saving money by not subsidizing the defense of Europe, Japan and Korea. Let them pay for it.
