Goodbye GOP
Tea Party Tribune ^ | 2012-12-06 15:00:11 | mrcurmudgeon

By Mr. Curmudgeon:

Two developments in the Republican Party point to its future: South Carolina's Jim DeMint announced his retirement from the United States Senate to serve as president of the conservative Heritage Foundation, and the Reuters News Service reports that GOP House Speaker John Boehner is purging conservative Tea Party members from key committees "as he seeks to tighten control over his unruly caucus ahead of difficult votes on 'fiscal cliff' issues."

The consolidation of America's one-party state begins.

You see, it matters not how conservative a Republican you send to Congress if his vote (and yours indirectly) is negated by the gelding brothers John Boehner (House) and Mitch McConnell (Senate).

"I've decided to join The Heritage Foundation at a time when the conservative movement needs strong leadership in the battle of ideas," said Sen. DeMint in a statement announcing his departure from the Senate. DeMint told the Wall Street Journal's Dan Henninger, "This is an urgent time, because we saw in the last election we [Republicans] were not able to communicate conservative ideas that win elections."

In short, DeMint had an epiphany:  His party's leadership is unable to "communicate conservative ideas" because they and the party they lead are not conservative. And believing they are requires a tortured redefinition of the term "conservative."

I have been a registered Republican my entire adult life. But the neutering of the GOP by its establishment mafia has left me no choice: At the earliest opportunity, I'll part company with the Party of Lincoln and register as an Independent.

I can't support a party that has become nothing more than the women's auxiliary of the Democratic Party.

Screw that. We must take ownership of the GOP, and stop disbanding especially after 2010.

Yeah. Right. According to party hacks like yourself, Tuesday at the RNC never happened and this purge of Conservatives must be endured for the sake of 'unity' right?

Look, you are more than welcome to remain a plantation Slave to the Judenrat for the MarxoFascists.

The GOP left Conservatives a long time ago. Most of us simply refused to believe it and were told we had no where else to go.

We're done with the battered wife syndrome, and it's time to separate from a party working with those hell bent on our complete destruction.

I’ve told people for years that I’m a “RINO” because the GOP has failed to carry the banner of conservatism and the traditions of the GOP, thus all that’s left is the name. And I keep threatening to just go ahead and register as Independent and lose that last connection too.

We should all ask ourselves, "Which will be easier to win? A three-party race...or a Republican primary?"

Forming a third party is like raising taxes on the rich. All you've accomplished is punishing the Republican party.

I ask people what is the point of following a party that spends insane amounts of time, money and resource to create a party platform their elected membership openly REFUSE to follow legislatively. What I ask, id the F’ing POINT ?

I’m right there with you.

Ah. “Winning”. Got it.

Just register as a Dem and vote. You will “Win” without any thinking or principle/belief required.

Some of us prefer to ‘win’ what we believe in. Not ‘win’ to empower that which we abhor. But you do as you see fit.

>> Explain in detail ...

Do put that crap on me, pal. Like I need a #ing lecture from someone who took 20 years to figure out the GOP has failed.

In the meantime, we got a Republican party to save with a lot of good guys and gals currently representing various constituencies. They need reinforcements, and that should be the goal for the upcoming midterms. You don’t need to fund the RNC/GOP. Everyone should work locally to replace the RINOs in DC. And don’t insult yourself by asking me what that means ‘in detail’.

Obviously, you failed to grasp my point.

Winning Republican primaries with conservatives is a good thing, don't you think?

I'm curious. Who -- or what -- pissed in your oatmeal and ruined your day?

That in response to my comment about taking control, and holding on to our Tea Party investments?

>> Look, you are more than welcome to remain a plantation Slave to the Judenrat for the MarxoFascists.

Doesn’t fit my Consevative/Libertarian views, but feel free to go on with the arbitrary rant.

It would be. If it helped. But what is the point in wining primaries when GOP corporate actively works to obstruct the new hires? As the convention and Bohner’s latest Democrat move proved beyond doubt.

That their turning against their own (west) proved?

If you want more of it, you can have it.

Oh what the hell. I’ll answer.

People who lack the intelligence to see that they are being used, and revel in it...that is the urea in my cheerios.

And FR is filled with them.

I wish they would live up to the independent conservatism they CLAIM to revere. But I have come to realize they are simply full of sh!t.

We are wasting our time trying to save the party of idiots!

They are idiots to us, but perhaps more accurately, most DC Republicans and almost all Democrats belong to the same party, the party of Big Government.

I understand their frustration, but I’m not getting the drama.

Yes, we need to work harder at the local level. The nationally focused passion needs to yield Congressional fruit for 2014.

Okay, “person whom took 20 years to learn his lesson”, how intelligent are you? 150, 175?

I find it funny (as in LOL funny) that a guy is talking about someone else ‘learning lessons’ when he stubbornly defends the same failed process that resulted in our current problem.

FWIW, you might want to ponder that a bit. Because until you understand that doing the same thing and expecting a different result is pretty stupid, you are the poster child for our current dilemma. Have you considered calling a battered spouse hotline? Because you are displaying the very symptoms of people in that situation.

The GOP being the abusive spouse. You making excuses why you/we should keep empowering their abuse.

I agree. We need another 2010 turnout with better Senate options. The entire House is up in 2014 as are a boatload of Senate seats. Republican communities across the Country should withdraw from the GOP establishment and flip the local structures. There are a lot of dirtbags impregnated at various levels in the hierarchy that need to go.

You don’t give a shit what I say if it involves salvaging the Republican party.

You’re pissed, and your current focus on the subject of abuse is unwarranted. Let’s drop it.

Lets not drop it.

Lets have you
A: answer my original question.
B: answer my follow up.
C: explain what you ‘win’ by ‘salvaging’ a party that believes something other than what you claim to.

“Dropping it” is what happens every time enough people get ‘pissed’. Someone in the GOP fanbase always wants to ‘drop it’ rather than address the fact that over 2 decades the GOP has gotten further LEFT than the O’Neil Democrats of the 80s.

So no. A lot of us are not going to ‘drop it’. If you choose to defend the GOP’s actions, then you choose to take the heat along with them.

“fruit for 2014”?????

Wow. Dream on.....there is no 2014 election.

This last election was all fun and games for DC. Bad actors with a joke of a script. And us money bag lemmings donating so the bozo rino’s could funnel money to them and theirs.
Romney faked his way through this worse than McCain.

Watch these people tomorrow. I mean REALLY watch them. You will see they are putting on a stage show.

Wake up!

You are doing exactly what they want you to do. They need us and our money to continue to steal from and burn down our Republic. It is now our fault for letting them
