Sorry folks you got played. Barry only needed you as a backdrop to “Look” Presidential. Now that he’s secured his second term he’s more concerned over what type of Steak he wants for dinner. Too bad the media has moved on from this story, Fast and Furious, and Libya to focus on important things like how the Republicans aren’t caving fast enough on raising taxes for Obama’s liking.....

“People get exactly what they vote for.”

The trouble is, EVERYONE gets what the plurality voted for.

And how many people continue to vote for this socialism in Staten Island?

Approximately 51%. Reflective of the rest of the country.

I bet McGrath doesn’t vote for another demo again...then again???

Of course they will. Remember so many of us were so sure America had learned something and turned a corner and would NO WAY re-elect Obama? We're talking American voters here... their capacity to learn is.. shall we say.. behindert.

Oh my gosh... Staten Islanders... you.. you actually thought you were going to receive HELP? That you weren’t just campaign props?

But fret not...

How about some extra minutes for your Obamaphone? Would you like a CD of some of Obama’s speeches for inspiration? How about a “HOPE” poster?

I’ll bet as that guy hauls out his storm-damaged stuff from his storm-damaged house, he’s thinking... “Man, I’ll feel so much better when those rich people get taxed more.”

I lived on Staten Island and the place is a whole different world compared to most of NYC. Staten Island is actually very conservative with the exception of several government housing “projects” towards the North side. Close families, hard working people and unlike the majority of NYC, most own their own cars and property.

Like the world-famous garbage dump, the projects were forced on SI residents by the corrupt rulers in city hall. The blight from the “projects” forced many to flee and turned the neighborhoods into havens for obamabots and illegals who skew the vote. Because of countless similar abuses, SI has tried to secede from NYC many times.

SI voted 51% for Obama overall but if you look at precincts outside those government-ruined neighborhoods, they were all 60-70% AGAINST Obama.

The sad part is that the majority of people impacted by the storm were hard working small homeowners who invested their life savings into buying the only property they could afford. They were practically FORCED to gamble with storms just to own some property. Why? Because the projects and resulting blight consumed a huge amount of elevated SI land and this made safe elevated places even more unnafordable for those people.

Real Islanders HATE socialism and see the results first hand. But just like in all of the USA, the parasites were forced on them and now almost outnumber the producers…

Hers your answer. If the cost of repairs exceeds 50% then you get to rebuild 20 feet above the swamp. I see mandatory flood insurance in your future.. That is unless zero makes a new national seashore park .

The “election” is over, the Communists have consolidated their power - so who needs “the people” any longer. Anyone hoping for government “assistance” in the future is just living in a fantasy.

Here's your answer, Mr. McGrath: November 6, 2012 Staten Island election results: Barack Obama - 50.4% Mitt Romney - 49.6% People get exactly what they vote for. Leni

You have no idea how Mr. McGrath voted. Yet you lecture him about getting what he voted for.

And BTW your state and your country voted for Obama in bigger percentages that McGrath's Staten Island.

So using your logical, it would be good to see Mr. McGrath lecturing you about getting what you voted for, if something similar comes your way.

It would be interesting to see the percentages of Obama voters vs. Romney voters in the more affluent, settled precincts of Staten Island. They may have not all been as anti-Barack as we'd like to think.

Anyhow, unfortunately it looks like not enough of them turned out to vote....perhaps even knowing that the project-type voters wouldn't miss voting for Obama and they (the good guys) better not stay home.

However, for whatever reasons, close only counts in horseshoes...and it looks like not enough of the good guys bothered to vote.

It would also be interesting to know the effect third party presidential candidates had....seeing that only a miniscule amount of votes divided Obama and Romney.
