It's Time To Turn the Tables on this Presidential Bully
Townhall.com ^ | December 7, 2012 | David Limbaugh

Posted on 12/07/2012 8:42:04 AM PST by Kaslin

Something is very wrong in the world when the most dogmatic and inflexible president in recent memory can make unreasonable demands of his GOP budget opponents and yet be confident they'll be blamed for the impasse.

It is past time Barack Obama be held accountable for his intentionally irresponsible fiscal policies that are guaranteed to take us into national bankruptcy. It is outrageous enough that he is steering us into insolvency, but it is unbearable that he's fraudulently blaming the Republican Party for it to boot.

This is not a close call, and reasonable people, if they understood the facts, would not support Obama. The problem is that so many people who trust him, inexplicably, look no further than his disingenuous statements and the liberal media's slanted reporting, and the Republican Party leadership simply cannot seem to get its message across. It would help if they evidenced more faith in the wisdom of their own approach.

This isn't complicated. Our financial problems are overwhelmingly a result of excess spending, not of insufficient tax revenues. Increasing rates or decreasing deductions won't make a speck of difference, and Obama knows it.

Our $16 trillion national debt and our $100 trillion of unfunded liabilities are going to destroy this nation in relatively short order if we don't take drastic remedial action.

Yet Obama's plan is to increase taxes on the highest 2 percent of income earners while refusing to make significant reductions in discretionary spending or to restructure entitlements. His life's ambition is to fundamentally transform the nation, which depends on keeping the federal spigot spewing and punishing the "wealthy."

You could say it is crazy talk to suggest Obama doesn't want to bring our fiscal house in order, but I say, based on the evidence, it's much crazier to pretend he has any intention of balancing the budget.

To keep his shell game going, he has to divert the people's attention from the real culprit, spending, and toward blaming and demonizing the rich, and the red herrings of "balanced approach," "loopholes" and "revenues."

Obama is the one who won't agree to a "balanced" approach; he's ignoring spending and entitlements. When he calls tax increases "revenues," he is implying that increasing rates and eliminating deductions for a small fraction of income earners is going to appreciably raise revenues and help solve our problem. It won't. When he refers to legitimate tax deductions as "loopholes," he is further defrauding the public into believing that these high-income earners are somehow cheating by availing themselves of deductions the law reasonably allows.

Speaker John Boehner must quit adopting that same misleading terminology and conceding, in effect, that the "wealthy" are undertaxed. He is not doing himself or the nation any good by playing into Obama's hands and allowing him to control the language and the narrative.

Boehner needs to turn the tables on Obama and go into attack mode himself. There is no other way to deal with this destructive bully. Boehner must sprint to the national microphone and tell the American people that Obama is being unreasonable, reckless and uncompromising.

Obama is the one who won't address the only problem that matters: spending. He won't budge from his intolerable demands that Republicans raise rates on the "wealthy" in exchange for his vague promise of implementing spending "cuts" in the future, his insistence on spending more money on new programs today, his steadfast refusal to put entitlement reform on the table, and his demand that he be given unilateral authority to raise the budget ceiling at his whim.

Boehner must point out that Republicans have gone out of their way to compromise -- way too far out of their way -- by agreeing to eliminate deductions for the highest income earners to the tune of $800 billion, a figure Obama himself demanded not long ago. He should say he agreed to that not because he believes they're paying too little (they are indeed already paying more than their fair share) or that it will increase revenues, but in a good faith effort to secure an agreement from Obama to greatly reduce spending and restructure entitlement programs.

The GOP majority did not get re-elected to roll over to Obama's disastrous policies. They have a moral, legal and constitutional duty to resist Obama's path of destruction with every fiber of their beings. At some point, their desire not to look mean must yield to their duty to inform the American people of the gravity of our situation and how reckless Obama is being.

Face it: Unless Republicans accede to all of Obama's unreasonable demands and thus to the accelerated destruction of the country, there will be an impasse, because Obama will not yield, and Republicans will be blamed for it.

The only conceivable way Republicans can avoid this fate is if they quit playing his sinister game of negotiation chicken, call him out in plain terms on what he's doing, and show he has never been and is not now serious about averting a national financial meltdown.

Limbaugh is dreaming if he thinks that Speaker Boehner is even capable of explaining that conservatism works every time it is tried. He just got slaughtered by the media once again in his presser. He had the perfect opportunity to slam them on the fake job numbers...he took a pass. He just repeated his same tired cliches and called on the same media jackals that do nothing but advocate for Obama and the democrats. He should not have even taken questions!

Time to oust the speaker folks.

Square one: operational definitions of terms. There has to be clarity on things such as EXACTLY what is meant by “the” “wealthy” for example. Generalities and cliches allow manipulation to pass for actual thought.

I absolutely agree Obama must be called out if the country is to be "spared" in any way from the destruction Obama is trying to wreak on it. BIG PROBLEM .... Boehner is not the one to be doing it. He's already established himself as weak, unbelievable, caving in, etc The Dems have a "Propaganda Machine" that automatically kicks in whenever they want to get their point(s) across ... the Republicans seem to have nothing. It's always too little (if anything) and too late. No one has any Courage/Spine/Balls or whatever it takes .... and very few are even capable of articulating the points that need to be made. Limbaugh is absolutely right about WHAT needs to be done; unfortunately, there seems to be no one who either can or will do it .... and to top it all off, even if they did, the media would ignore it.

Boehner has become 0bama’s personal chauffeur and is willing to take him anywhere he wants to go to avoid the traffic jam . The contempt I have developed for Boehner is beyond my ability to put to words .

When the popular press threw in with this criminal group of Marxists, we lost any chance of ever holding either of their smelly feet to the fire. When there’s no hope of honest and objective reporting, our traditional message of opportunity and freedom will never see the light of day.

We can’t depend on our squishy “representatives” to represent anything but their own self-interest and careers by going along to get along.

More and more, I’m becoming convinced it will take mass civil disobedience to make any change whatsoever. And if we don’t have the sand to do it, then we can only look forward to increasing dhimmitude in our FEMA re-education camps.

Tell me I’m wrong.

I learned in grade school back in the 1970's, after Mom took me aside to explain things, that if I did not stand up to bullies, they'd walk over me again and again. She said that I might get hurt and I might lose a few battles but you got to stand up for yourself. I did and there were times I even got punished such as when I got paddled by the principal in 1974.

We got a big bully in the White Hut and we need to stand up to him. Trouble is that many have pointed out, the people we need the most to do this lack a spine and will. Maybe they are afraid of getting "beat up" so to speak, but they need to get over that or we need to find people who believe that and take this thug in the White Hut on.

The obozo and this communist bunch of liberals are the worst thing that has happened to this country in over 100 years. Mr. Limbaugh should have addressed the fact that regardless of party affiliation the majority of the politicians in DC are self aggrandizing unpatriotic scoundrels complicit in the demise of our national way of life at the expense of the hard working citizens. They've got theirs and could give a damn about the rest of us.

The GOP is completely neutered and incompetent. obama sent geitner to meet with the GOP leadership and at that meeting he demanded that taxes be increased spending be increased and that obama be granted unilateral authority to raise the debt level whenever he sees fit. A responsible response to this kind of unprecedented power grab should have been immediate, forceful, outrages and resounding. Instead we get word that McConnell laughed at timmy. Give me a damn break! obama is DEMANDING DICTATORIAL POWERS and the GOP just reacts as if it's business as usual!

We all know how these things work. The left makes an outrageous claim, the GOp says no, the media starts talking about it, the left sends out their talking heads to talk about it and put a reasonable spin on it and soon the media are cheerleaders for whatever damn thing the left wants now and conservatives are painted as extreme right wingers who won't get with the times and grant the left whatever obscene, or immoral, or anti-American, Ant- capitalist demand they're making now. I'm sick and damned tired of this kabuki dance! We need a damned leader!

Disinformation campaigns with the compliant and global media messaging without the facts, with selective reporting and shaping the stories works everywhere it’s tried.

We are at a severe messaging disadvantage and both parties are socialist/Marxists.

Unless media and Democrats themselves begin to peel off and expose the communists behind this transition, we conservatives recover nothing peacefully.

When has Boehner ever been an attack dog?

It's not in him.

Who do we nominate as a congressional spokesperson?

"Boehner needs to turn the tables on Obama and go into attack mode himself"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's not going to happen. Boehner and his buddies know the dirty little secret. They know that nothing was done to stop massive vote fraud. Nothing was done to stop the media from turning into a communist propaganda machine. The far left has taken over, corruption is rampant and this will never be reversed through elections and these guys know it. The time to win the day with a conservative message has past. Boehner and his Republican buddies are putting on a dog and pony show for the public while secretly securing a safe position in an imperial empire that can't be stopped by conventional means.

Ron paul said our Constitution has failed. Well I would say our Constitution is failing but there are still some tools that have yet to be used. Our founders wisely gave us the ability to amend the constitution and repair our republic through convention. The situation we find ourselves in today is the EXACT circumstances the founders had in mind for the calling of a Constitutional convention.

We are founded on the principle of limited government but clearly we have drifted so far towards unlimited government power that its simply unreasonable to believe the system will correct itself. It won't. Those in power will never vote themselves less power, less money or less control over peoples lives. It's this very situation where our elected leaders absolutely refuse to control themselves that a convention should be used.

It's time for the Red states to consider the Constitutional process that can actually restore liberty and take our country back.

We need someone to articulate the message simply enough for sound bites to the masses. I haven’t done the math, but though Zero won the popular vote and actually very closely the electoral college (300k votes in the top swing states was all assuming no cheating - thus if 150k people had voted R instead of O, different result with riots) - but the Republicans still have a substantial margin in the House - what was the total Congressional ballot across the country? Not reported - assume it would be telling.

Anyway - simple message needed:

IT’S THE SPENDING - STUPID

and - Zero has no mandate - he narrowly won, and he lost the House (even with a few seats picked up).
