Bet he sold it under the table at a HUGE profit and now can take it as a loss instead of a gain.

Who the hell gets robbed of that much jewelry in this day and age.

I can appreciate your cynicism but it is not always possible to sell jewelry at “a huge profit” a lot of time pieces have sentimental value as they are heirlooms and the appraisal/insurance value often is not what you can actually sell the item for.

and there are people around who have some nice pieces that are usually handed down generation to generation not purchased new
