Tea Party Nation ^ | 12/7/12 | Judson Phillips

Posted on 12/07/2012 12:07:55 PM PST by Thad Lost

We have a lost generation of Americans. We who make up the baby boom generation still talk about the American dream.

For the lost generation, the American dream is now dead.

Who are the lost generation and why is the American dream nothing but a myth to them?

The lost generation is the group we call “Millennials.” They are the people under 30.

Why is their generation lost?

They don’t talk about the American Dream because of all of the liberals in the boomer generation who stole it from them.

Boomers are a pox on America’s house.

Can’t figure out which Obama reminds me more of, Peterless Pan, or Malice in Blunderland.

"Why is their generation lost?"

Because their economic future has been exported to other countries and now they can't get a job to pay for their education, start a family and make enough money to vote Republican like their parents.

UMMM I HATE to tell you that MOST of the BS(Social Security, Medicare, the Welfare “Industry” and the like) did NOT originate w/ the “Boomer” Generation. They originated with the “Greatest” Generation(WW2) and the Generation before them(WW1). Booomer are just going to be the GREATEST Leeches on the systems as there is SO MANY of them and hitting the Retirment years at once.

Oh, really? This boomer served his country in time of war and many of my fellow boomer Marines names are on The Wall. I went to college on the GI Bill, graduated, got a job, paid my taxes, got married and raised a family of Christian conservatives, obeyed the law and was a good neighbor. Yes, you are right. I was certainly a pox on America's house.

I said:

"They don’t talk about the American Dream because of all of the liberals in the boomer generation who stole it from them."

So what's your beef with what I said? You don't think there are liberals in the boomer generation? All those hippies weren't boomers? Or, you consider yourself a liberal and take exception to the damage caused? Or you just wanted to be sure we all knew that you're a boomer and did good things?

Give me Buffalo Springfield with Stills & Young, and then Young alone, or with
Crazy Horse.

Crosby & Nash can sing, but they aren’t as creative as the other two...

In that regard Neil is the King....

We have 3 children under 30 (Barely for one.) They all work and are on their own. The eldest has a house already.

They are not blind to what is happening in our country and they didn’t vote for the Marxist.

All true. Although I think you shortchange Crosby a little. They are all solid musicians, and CSN&Y was top shelf. I’d agree that CSN lacks, but they do harmonize well.

Hey, CSN beats the heck out of Rhianna, or Nicki Minaj.

Look, you can take offense to anything you like. If you wish, I can offend the heck out of you. I’m a boomer, and I served. I noted they were good things, while I noted an undue flaming.

There was context. I mentioned liberal boomers, and there were a LOT of liberals in the boomer years. Ever hear of hippies?

I’ve explained as much as I care to. You can be butt hurt all you like from here on out.

If they are a product of the public education system then truly they are lost. However, my grandchildren that were home schooled and matriculated at private well based colleges (Hillsdale for example) are not LOST. They are fully capable of carrying on and succeeding even after Obama and the Marxists do their dirty work. They are the hope for the future. JMHO.

If you look at the single thing that destroyed America, it is JFK’s 1965 Immigration Act passed on his death, pre-boomers voting, the most destructive period in our history was again, pre-boomer anything, the period from roughly 1935 to 1979.

The first election that all of the boomers could even vote in for a president, was the 1984 election, they were still a long way from running things.

Out of that long list, three of them were boomers, and 2 of those were Canadians, Bruce Palmer, Jim Messina, and Ken Kablum were boomer age.

Almost 9.5 million boomers served, some still do.

Boomers were the last of the great warrior generations, and overwhelmingly volunteers.

Petraeus is a boomer, too bad he didn’t get to serve under boomer, Sarah Palin.

“The first election that all of the boomers could even vote in for a president, was the 1984 election, they were still a long way from running things.”

Boomers are the children of WWII veterans, and those of that generation. By definition, the baby boom began in 1945. The end of the boom is debatable, but generally placed around 1960.

So the first of the boomers could vote around 63-64, and the first of them were eligible for Senate/President in 1980. I believe boomers began to assert themselves in the late 80s. Bill and Hillary Clinton are boomers.

No, boomers are defined as those born from 1946 to 1964.
http://www.census.gov/newsroom/releases/archives/facts_for_features_special_editions/cb06-ffse01-2.html

The first election that ANY boomers could vote in was 1968, the first presidential election that ALL boomers were finally old enough to vote in, was in 1984.

I agree with you that the late 1980s would have been when the boomers would have started to emerge, I think most of us see the people from roughly age 45 to 70 mostly running things, and in 1990 the oldest boomer was 44.
