Barkley actually said something that made sense.

Charles Barkley Talks Guns With Bob Costas: ‘I Carry a Gun’ Because ‘I Just Feel Safer With It’

Reacting to Bob Costas’ controversial halftime gun control lecture on Sunday night, retired NBA all-star Charles Barkley said he carries “a real gun” because he feels “safer with it.”

Barkley, appearing on “Costas Tonight,” said he doesn’t think the nation has a “gun culture” but rather a “crime culture” especially “in the black community.”

“You know, we as black people always, we don’t have respect for one another. You know, we’ve got more black men in prison than we do in college and crime in our neighborhoods is running rampant,” Barkley said. “And I know everybody reacts when something like the Belcher thing happens, but being black, this is something you deal with all the time. And it’s just sad. I’m a guy, I carry a gun. I carry a gun.”

Costas then pointed out that Barkley lives in Arizona where he can “legally carry a gun.”

“Even when I lived in Philadelphia, I’ve had a gun, I’ve carried a gun in my car every year in my life since I was 21, 22. Never had to use it,” Barkley added.

“Are you packing right now?” Costas asked jokingly. “Just being sure.”

Today most of these “Pro” athletes are millionaires. They are natural targets for robbery or kidnapping. They would be ‘NUTZ’ not to protect themselves and/or their families.

McEnroe said “get the guns off the streets”.
He should have said “get the illegal guns off the streets”.
I think we could then agree with him.
And as a tennis player I would add McEnroe was and is one helluva player. I wish I could have played like that.

Rush used to have Barkley on his show back when Charles was sounding reasonable and conservative. Then he went over to the dark side. With this statement it appears that he is trying make his way back to the light.

Barkley actually said something that made sense.

There's that ancient saying: Even the blind hog finds the acorn now and again.

They also say if you put a monkey at a keyboard of a computer there is a probability greather than zero he will tap out the Gettysburg Address.

There is a far greater probability he will tap out an Obama speech or speeches...and probably did many times before Obama delivered them.

"McEnroe says he feels 'safer' by not carrying a gun."

You can "feel" any way you want, Mr. McEnroe. That does not mean that you "are" safer without a means to protect yourself from someone who would harm you to take what you have. [unladylike word] idiot.
