Obamacare May Hike Your Pet’s Health Care Bills

American health care consumers aren’t the only ones who will be hit by slated Obamacare tax hikes. Medical bills for their pets may go up as well.

According to a rule published Friday by the Internal Revenue Service, some medical devices used in veterinary practices will be hit by Obamacare’s 2.3 percent device tax. Many of their manufacturers are expected to hike prices, meaning higher veterinary costs for the nation’s pet owners.

The tax will not hit devices that are used exclusively for veterinary purposes. But a host of such devices are manufactured for use in both human health care and veterinary practices. Those devices’ manufacturers will have to pay the tax.

Maybe we need a million dog march to use the White House fence, along with their owners and torches and pitchforks.

Dogs, forks, and fire. At the Whitehouse. This is not going to end well, I fear.

EBT users in California have no worries, just found out they get dog food vouchers, so probably vet vouchers also.

Our drugs and equipment have increased in prices significantly since Obama’s first election. Some drugs have increased prices as much as 1000% (no kidding). We are not immune to the idiocy and effects of Obamacare. I cannot see how a new graduate can afford to make a living and pay off student loans from professional school with the economic climate as it is.

Maybe we need a million dog march

Good idea. March and demand free doggie care for life. Dems should take advantage of the huge and powerful dog owner voter block. Free dog care would guarantee them lifetime votes from this block of voters.

I say raise the price of cat care to pay for this. Maybe a temporary surcharge on cat visits to vets, then review in 10 years. Cats have nine lives. Let’s be fair. Cats need to pay their fair share.

Queen of the Universe had her annual check up this week so she’s good for a while.

They’ve got a fix for that. Here in Oregon they passed a law that says a vet cannot treat a small animal that has not had a check-up in the last 12 months. So if your dog or cat was injured somehow & you rushed it to the vet, you would be refused service if it hadn’t had the annual check-up.

No one heard about this & it snuck in for small animals. The legislature then tried to do the same for large animals & the farmers & horse-owners raised holy h*ll & got it stopped.

I miss my half Snowshoe Cat (her mother is grey and white), Whitey, who hissed at and clawed the TV screen when OBummer came on. She passed in October at the age of 11 to join her two brothers, G.W. (Dubya) and Greystone, at the Rainbow Bridge. Here is a pic of Whitey, she's on the right, her mother is on the left. I still have two cats, Spunky, the mother and Rascal.

Nah, we cat people are affected too. We need to unite with the dog people and others, not only a million dog march but also a million cat march. Reptile and bird people can join in too, we need to unite and not divide, that is what Obongo does. Whitey, my departed Snowshoe, would be proud of that.
