In an interview with Apple CEO Tim Cook for Thursday's NBC Rock Center, host Brian Williams wondered why the tech giant couldn't be a "made-in-America company" and outlined a political scenario in which President Obama was all-powerful: "Let's say our Constitution was a little different and Barack Obama called you in tomorrow and said, 'Get everybody out of China and do whatever you have to do, make these, make everything you make in the United States.'"
Cook responded by suggesting American workers simply didn't have the capacity to manufacture Apple products: "Over time, there are skills that are associated with manufacturing that have left the U.S., not necessarily people, but the education system stopped producing them."

Tim Cook is spot on, our unionized, leftwing education system does not produce intelligent, skilled adults.
Form of Fascism.
Brian Williams.....proof that stupid pays big bucks
If these A**wipes don’t like life in the USA why don’t they move to third world piss hole of their choice instead of insisting America change to suit them?
Williams, that is called fascism.
Central Planner in the White House by a man who has never run a buisness in his infernal life. Gee, isn’t that a well thought out idea by
With his well worn pad of executive order blanks, he already rules by fiat. ;-)
Businesses that earn no profit employ no people and pay no taxes.
Do you see where this is going?
>>Tim Cook is spot on, our unionized, leftwing education system does not produce intelligent, skilled adults.
He’s an idiot. We could produce intelligent, skilled adults in a few years if we had any interest in having State Technical Colleges in the America. But, the money is in the 4 year degree (money for the school, not necessarily for the student) so that’s all they push. Who wants to spend 4 years learning how to program PLCs or maintain industrial robotics as we ship all those jobs overseas?
Start bringing the manufacturing jobs back and smart kids and adults will start learning the skills. No one is going to take out a student loan to learn how to make a buggy whip.
“...our unionized, leftwing education system...”
That is the way our unionized, leftwing education system should be described anytime it is mentioned. Those words should be welded together.
You are spot on.
How is that working out in Cuba and North Koreaa, venezuela , not good at all as the people there are starving slaves.
These media idiots are for a socialist dictatorship where Obama runs everything. This moron couldn't make a lemonade stand profitable much less run millions of businesses at the same time in real time as government takes days just to make 1 decision that is usually wrong and for the wrong reasons (solydnra , volt etc?.
no man can run the millions of transactions that happen in the free market every day even if that man were an intelligent, competent businessman which this pos isn't.
Ayn Rand covered this well in Atlas Shrugged. People were moving to Colorado for the freedom to run a business, so the federal government created a ‘Unification Board’ to determine who could move and where, if at all. All in the name of fairness, mind you. She really had these jokers pegged.
Not very many high school graduates are ready to learn anything. We are talking about a very stupid group of people who also think they know everything and are the center of the universe.
K-12 has turned many of them into useless eaters

“.......American workers simply didn’t have the capacity to manufacture Apple products: “Over time, there are skills that are associated with manufacturing that have left the U.S.,.....”
I’m for keeping all we can, and bringing back all we can, but the man is absolutely correct in his assessment.
One thing that comes to mind is mfg printed circuit boards. Every electronic device has one or more of them, and they are much smaller and more intricate than they were when the technology left here.
We could bring it back and crank it up, but I don’t know about the workforce to get the job done. Those asians will work 12 hours or more a day on jobs akin to picking fly shit out of pepper for a spoonful of rice, 3 noodles and a fish head. All our people are on gubmint dole. I think it’s waaaay too late to turn it around. I hope someone proves me wrong.
thanks. That is a good idea though.
an “intelligent, competent” person would know better
