Two years ago Fox 2 Problem Solver Rob Wolchek got a tip from someone inside Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly plant about what some workers were doing at the park on their lunch break.

When it comes to cars, I just went from "Buy American" to "Boycott American". Chrysler had every right to fire those workers, and I saw nothing in the article that justified hiring them back.

I don't want to put Americans out of work any more than anyone else, but I'm not going to expect anyone to pay for this to save American jobs.

I'm not in the market, but when I am, it's foreign built Ford or transplant for me. This has to stop.

I'm actually old enough to remember that once upon a time, America produced that kind of quality and we laughed at the Japanese.

Yup. Now, the domestic makes have barely half of their own market, and that's assuming you count Fiat owned Chrysler as a domestic brand.

Considering it went all the way to arbitration (which surprises me), I suspect the workers were awarded back pay too.....

Chrysler and the UAW have a bargaining agreement regarding disciplinary actions and substance abuse problems (as did my Tier 1 company). At the most, I would have expected the workers to only get a few weeks off without pay but given the high profile coverage from the local TV media, they disregarded that established policy and tried to keep them fired.

The arbitrator didn't rule on the actions of the employees which resulted in their discharges, but rather Chrysler's violation of the legally binding bargaining agreement.......

When I buy my next car, I'm going to arbitrate my own ruling on this.

I think you need a witch doctor, not a mechanic. Eating a tranny at 75K (Common for the 4 spped A/T - the differential pins would come loose)

and pissing oil at 45K is just bizarre.

My 2005 Chrysler Town and Country at 100,000 miles is rusting ... a dealer they quoted me $450.00 for plugs and wires.
Rusting after 7 years is not unusual, especially if you live where they get lots of snow and use a lot of salt.
I live in Rochester, NY and I can remember the days when most cars were rusted after three years.
And if you got 100K miles out of the original set of plugs/wires, I don't think that's something to complain about.

Even the top line plugs and wires would not be more than $100.00

The problem with putting a set in the Chrysler Town and Country is the way the engine sits...

A couple of plugs are REAL hard to get too...

The dealer didn't even look at the plugs and wires - the CEL indicated a miss.

It takes me 20 minutes for the front three plugs and about 20 minutes a piece for the three rears. Wires are $60.00 and plugs are $6.00 each. $100.00 and 1-1/2 hours vs. $450.00

Our auto industry died many years ago.

I will buy American again someday, but NON-UNION only.

I don’t buy union made beer either.

When I buy a product, I look to see who is making it. Non union made, whatever it is.

Would have suggested you do your own wires & plugs, but today, that "skill" is pretty much unknown or forgotten.

The $100.00 and 1-1/2 hours IS my time and cost.

And BTW feeler gauges are no longer used - platinum plugs come pre-gapped and many are not adjustable.
