The Dem incumbent hopes Crist, a once-popular Repub governor, will help Obama appeal to political independents, who are likely to determine the state's victor. "We have a leader with a cool head, and his name is Barack Obama," Crist told the crowd of some 11,000 at an outdoor rally. "He is working hard for the middle class. Court documents filed 2009 by federal authorities sought the forfeiture of $1.2 billion he stole in his massive Ponzi scheme. Federal agents seized $60 million worth of assets that hint at the lavishness of Rothstein's lifestyle. A selection of the items Rothstein purchased with other people's money included 20 luxury cars, 15 homes and other properties, an 87-foot yacht, 304 pieces of jewelry and $12 million stashed in Moroccan banks (Rothstein briefly fled to Morocco with millions for three months when rumors of his alleged scam began to circulate. He returned by chartered jet in November to face US justice).

Rothstein falsified and manufactured numerous counterfeit court documents---and even forged the names of judges---to inveigle unwary investors into a scheme that purported to invest in court settlements (that he faked) at a high rate of return. Rothstein connived to get investors by saying he was the lawyer in hundreds of settlement cases whereas lawyers say that the numbers Rothstein bandied about were impossible. Rothstein also stole monies fron his cliets that were placed in escrow accounts that are never touched by ethical lawyers. Rothstein begged for mercy but the judge gave Rothstein 20 years more than even prosecutors had asked. He is now sergving 50years in a federal prison.

Honest ta God---I really get bummed when people suggest Obama should only appoint "honest, competent people" to high govt posts.

Give the guy a break---Obama is a product of the Chicago political machine---he’s never in his life met anyone who is "honest and competent."

Just look at his first Cabinet appointees: a treasury secretary who couldn’t figure out how to pay his own taxes. His attorney general actually thought selling guns to savage Mexican drug cartels was a good thing. Then there's Obama’s secretaries of commerce given the power of job creation and economic growth. Where have they been the past four years? Getting into Vegas hot tubs with Obama's GSA people?

Heck, we should thank our lucky stars Obama appointed only one czar who was a Communist truther (that we know of).

Is Susan Rice so horrible just b/c she adjusted her jock strap and went on Sunday talk TV? Big frickin' deal. So she misled everyone about Benghazi, saying a YouTube video caused the deaths of four American? Look at old news clips---clearly, Pearl Harbor was sparked by a Charlie Chan movie.
