AFP - Syria warned on Saturday that rebels could use chemical weapons in their fight against President Bashar al-Assad's forces, and insisted that the regime will never unleash such arms on its own people.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague, however, said there was evidence the Damascus government could actually employ chemical weapons stocks in the conflict which a rights group says has killed at least 42,000 people in nearly 21 months.

No, I respectfully disagree. I think the whole thing smells of a setup to give Obama et all their Casus belli to move the Caliphate forward. I have no love for Assad but it would just be foolish for him to use chem weapons at this point. Putin won't let Obama help the muslim brotherhood to power in Syria so we helped the "rebels" get some nasty nerve gas to use and make it look like Assad did it. The news medea has been helping right along and will continue to do so. Front page pictures of dead women and children and instantly, Assad is a monster who MUST be removed, the whole world now agrees. Arab "Spring" moves forward, radical islam adds Syria to it's conquests. "Democracy in Syria!" Just like Egypt. Oh happy day! Who's next? Jordan? Maybe Israel.

I agree with you. This smells like a setup to me and I have been watching this very intently.

I will continue to take my credible sources only from foreign sources.

I also agree. There could be video of the “rebels” setting off the chemical weapons, and Obama and the MSM would still blame Assad and use it as a justification to assist (I.e., send in US troops).

What happened to the chemical weapons that were in Libya?

Concur. Now that Obama gave the New Syrian Army chemical weapons from ex-Libyan stocks and showed them how to mount the waheads and fire them, it will be interesting to see if these whackos use them on Assad. If they do, it won't be Assad doing this, but U.S.=armed Sunni Jihadi proxies of America.

I believe Putin orchestrated the attack on Benghazi (who were controlling the arms shipments) as a shot across both Barry's and Hillary's bows. If our proxies (the NSA) use the chemical weapons on Assad first, it's going to raise this civil war to an international crisis that neither the community organizer, his brain Valerie Jarrett, or Hillary are fit to formulate policy. If any of the chemical weapons is fired at Israel, then the Middle East is going to end up in a huge war. Just sayin’.

I don't think they would use them on Assad. The rabid islamists, excuse me, I meant to say the wonderful freedom fighters will dress up in Syrian Army uniforms for the "candid" photo opps and then use them on civilians so Assad can be blamed. They will be used as a weapon of mass propiganda and the media will be only too happy to help.

First time I saw the headlines those were my thoughts exactly.

My thoughts were also that if the Syrian regular military has “mixed” the chemicals, it would be to make them expire and if they fell into the hands of the rebels they would be useless after 60 days. Assad is not stupid. I could be wrong though.

A classic “false flag” operation if there ever was one. Yes, the MSM will be only too anxious to follow the Obama propaganda line. Our Dear Leader, the community organizer extraordinaire, and the Hildabeast are playing with crystallized nitroglycerin here. This is NOT good.

Syria "is defending its people against terrorism, which is supported by known countries, with the United States at the forefront," the ministry said.

Consider that Obama has backed every destabilized government in the region which has ultimately been more or less taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood, and there may well be an element of truth in this statement.

Arab "Spring" moves forward, radical islam adds Syria to it's conquests. "Democracy in Syria!" Just like Egypt. Oh happy day! Who's next? Jordan? Maybe Israel.

Yep. Don't forget Libya, too.

Maybe Israel.chemical weapons through the Benghazi operations before it was destroyed IMO. Obama is behind this as part of his continued effort to depose secular dictators to put the Muslim Brotherhood and othert "

Afraid I agree. The US has supplied the Islamist terrorists fighting Assad with the weaponry in order to topple another secular dictator who stands in the way of creating the Greater Caliphate. Obama is behind each of these Arab Spring actions and will lead the way in creating the alliance which will attack Israel and the rest of the West. Obama is becoming a great leader of the Ummah and spreading terrorism worldwide.

Syria had better be careful. If they start killing people with chemicals they will be the recipient of a very harsh letter from The Obama administration.

Yep, all according to the script. People in our own intel agencies will be stifled if they try to say otherwise.

Obama wouldn't help the people who wanted freedom from the Iranian government's religious oppression. The Iranian government has its version of the Caliphate in place already and Obama carefully avoided giving ANY support including moral support to the Iranian people because he WANTS the Caliphate.

Chemical containers in the Libyan desert. There are concerns unguarded weapons could fall into the hands of Islamist militants

Artillery rounds designed to carry chemical weapons are stashed in the ... are shown unguarded in Libya’s Sirte Desert in photographs taken

In August, Fox News interviewed Rep. Mike Rogers, R.-Mich., who said he saw a chemical weapon stockpile in the country during a 2004 trip. At the time, he said the U.S. was concerned about “thousands of pounds of very active mustard gas.”

He also said there is some sarin gas that is unaccounted for.

A Russian-drafted U.N. resolution, to be voted on this week, calls on Libyan authorities to destroy stockpiles of chemical weapons in coordination with international authorities.

In February, the U.S. State Department told reporters that some chemical weapons remained in the country and the U.S. government was encouraging the Libyans to secure the sites.

The U.S. had been trying to revive a program to prevent Libyan chemical, biological and nuclear scientists from working for terror groups or hostile nations, a State Department official said last month.

Besides chemical weapons, hundreds of experts worked in Muammar Qaddafi’s weapons of mass destruction programs.

UN’s Ban Ki-moon says Libya must quickly secure any chemical weapons and nuclear materials left unguarded during the civil war.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2011/12/01/pol-baird-committee.html
Chemical weapons stockpiled in Libya pose a risk to Canada, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said Thursday.

“The place is armed to the hilt and obviously that causes us real concern,” Baird told the House of Commons foreign affairs committee.

He said there are concerns about the amount of weapons circulating around the country that is now being ruled by the National Transitional Council following the ousting and death of Moammar Gadhafi. During the uprising against Gadhafi a number of military sites were left unguarded and reports have indicated weapons and munitions have gone missing.

http://www.worldpoliticsreview.com/articles/8021/gadhafis-chemical-weapons-a-nightmare-scenario-in-libya
If the intelligence on the whereabouts of the chemicals is solid, the U.S. could neutralize or secure the materials quietly and covertly, using CIA and Special Operations units. Nevertheless, inserting U.S. personnel into the middle of a civil war leaves much to be desired. Moreover, moving — or guarding — 14 tons of anything is seldom done quietly.

Syrian rebels held secret talks with Libya’s new authorities on Friday, aiming to secure weapons and money for their insurgency against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

The New Syrian Army is getting chemical weapons from Qaddafi’s old stockpiles in Libya. The purpose of the “consulate and CIA annex” in Benghazi was the funneling of Libyan weapons to the NSA through NATO partner Turkey (that happens to share a border with Syria).

Barry could be buck naked on the White Hut lawn buggering a 14 year old boy in front of the whole Washington, DC press corps on live TV and they'd lie to the viewers (who would believe them).
