Washington DC - -(Ammoland.com)- During comments at the 2012 Herman Khan Award Dinner in New York last night, former VP Dick Cheney criticized Obamas Middle East policy and what he perceives as the projection of U.S. weakness instead of U.S. strength.
Cheney said the Middle East is moving in a direction fundamentally hostile to U.S. interests and the U.S. is increasingly unable to influence events there. Cheney believes our inability to influence is largely tied to the fact that Obama is headed for the exit in Afghanistan.
The former VP then reminded his audience of Obamas apology tour to the Middle East in 2009, and said Obamas approach to Syria has been indicative of our projection of weakness over the last four years.
Specifically, regarding Syria, he said it appears Obama will take [no] actions besides hope.
In concluding his remarks, Cheney made it clear that even now, we have people who are planning to attack us with deadlier weapons that 19 hijackers and boxcutters.
He said our allies dont trust us and our enemies dont fear us. And that just about sums it up.

Yes, we are. Breitbart had a video up with some crazy mixing sarin gas..included a demonstration on two rabbits, threatening larger populations. Looked like he had plenty of the stuff. I don’t know what language the bottles were written in (they also had English on them) but an expert may be able to determine their origin.
0bama and the rest of the Left owes Bush an apology re: WMD but we’ll never hear it. The nutcases that have them will use them. TOugh times doesn’t begin to describe that kind of horror.
If Dick had put more time in helping to run the country instead of doing the politically correct thing there would not be a Bronco Bama in what is now called the White Hut!
He and George made matters worse and allowed the central socialist government to grow thereby paving Bama’s path to glory.
Balderdash...... failed Monday morning quarterbacking by a Basketball forward
Unfortunately, in 1948, General George Marshall and Defense Secretary James Forrestal were right about the Middle East and oil supplies.
Secretary of State George Marshall predicted terrorist attacks on Americans and an endless war between Arabs and Israel.
Defense Secretary James Forrestal predicted threats to oil supplies.
They were right.
10,500 Americans have been killed and 50,000 wounded since 1973 because of the Middle East.
16,000 soldiers are catastrophically wounded.
There have been 4 oil crisis followed by 4 economic recessions since 1973.
Western intelligence sources have told The Guardian that the Saudi monarchy has paid for up to 60% of the Pakistani nuclear programme. Pakistan is estimated to have about 100 nuclear weapons.
Our one saving grace is large oceans bordering us on the east and the west and relatively benign neighbors north and south.
If we were Switzerland we’d be history...
With a C-I-C who is a friend of our enemies and an enemy of our friends why wouldn’t Dick Cheney be correct in making this statement?
There is a lot Republican voters do not know about Dick Cheney.
If you go on the site, Gulag Bound, there is a great video of Cheney as VP, giving a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations.
He fields a question from one of the head Fabian socialists, David Rockefeller.
Cheney reveals in his own words how he kept the fact that he was the head of the CFR from his Wyoming constituents, knowing full well they wouldnt approve.
This was the first I heard about Cheney heading one of the leading organizations pushing for a One World Government.
Dick Cheney is nowhere near as Conservative as he likes to portray himself.
This explains much of why Obama and the lefts agenda are pushed ahead, even though Republicans could have stopped all of it.
It also explains why the Republicans Party establishment has no problem attacking Palin, but nary a word of protest against Obama, unless they are running for re-election.
Truth is, it took a Hell of a lot of arrogance and stupidity to believe we could nation build a medieval Muslim nation like Afghanistan.
It is a place where family and clan mean more than the nation as a whole. It will have to change from inside.
Leaving Afghanistan will the smartest thing we do this decade except perhaps for bailing out of the Middle East in totality. Screw’em!
Yep. I'm sure Bush and Cheney had the best of intentions. But they had eight years to destroy radical islam; didn't get it done. And they had eight years to reduce the size of the federal government; didn't get it done.
Times have really changed. The public has no appetite left for Middle East invasions. Sometimes it’s too easy and sometimes it’s too hard. The American public must look erratic to the rest of the world.
It is because what the MSM tells the American populace has little to do with reality. The MSM has done a great deal to turn our victories into defeats, because a Republican was president at the time.
I wouldn't fault Cheney - it would have been a betrayal of sorts had he undercut Bush and it would have caused more problems for us (if more problems even equates these days). The ticket was ass-backwards - Cheney should have been at the top of the ticket.
It is hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel, especially with the bamaClaus tunnel, but having lived through dem regimes since Truman, there is still a flicker if we look closely.
What Cheney describes can not be argued against, it is fact.Even warmonger LBJ put us in the same spot as does nobama, because dem Administrations seem to have a hatered for the military (thus world power and peace through strength), maybe because they see it as a fat plum they can divert to voter buying with penny-ante treats and fatcat graft for their own pockets.
That flickering light is that every one of theses wasteful dem regimes have eventually been replaced by the voters with more sensical and fiscally responsible GOP administrations, who have each time been able to at least partly right the ship.
Horse hockey!
Not quite.
Our former allies don’t trust us.
Our new allies trust us. Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Sudan, and, soon, North Korea.
Remember that Cheney was a dyed-in-the-wool, card-carrying member of the one world government touting CFR, which he kept from his Wyoming constituency.
There’s no question in my mind that he and George W. paved the way for Obama.
Who in the hell ever thought that Americans would elect and re-elect a dubious fruitcake named Barack Hussein Obama?
The jokes on us and future generations. All America will eventually look like Detroit, Michigan.
All muslims and taco crunchers welcome to a loafer’s paradise.
