Is it possible to have a principled opposition to raising tax rates to avoid the fiscal cliff? It seems that Joe Scarborough doesn't think so. On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough suggested that those on the "far, far right" in the "conservative entertainment complex" and in the ranks of political consultants who oppose tax rate hikes do so out of base material motives.
According to Scarborough, speaking of such "far, far right" tax-increase opponents, "conservatism is a racket for a lot of people to get very, very rich."

It is not often you get to see the outright ignorance of a person in the media but this is proof of Scarborough’s ignorance graduated to stupidity.
If thinking were something Scarborough was capable of, he would have noticed by now that corrupted politics is the racket.
Government is corrupted. All it comes down to is which form of corruption you favor. It really doesn’t matter whether your favorite corruption is Liberal or Conservative, Democrat, Republican, left, or right.
And Rich Liberal Republicans like you, Joe “I found a dead girl in my office” Scarborough, get very, very rich trashing Conservatives for your big paycheck on the liberal network you agree to work for.
Whereas Liberalism is a racket for lots and lots of people to get very poor.
Liberals are driven by a need to HELP.
Liberals believe that Rich People do not need HELP.
Liberals believe that Poor People do need HELP.
So the sooner the Liberals can make the Rich People Poor,
The sooner the Liberals can HELP them.

Refreshing to see some Truth and Honestly from Ol Joe. Sadly, he seems to think that it is a BAD thing for the maximum number of people to become wealthy.

Hey joe (sounds like a hendrix song), the dirty little secret is that you socialists need those rich people’s money to fund all these programs. Once the host is consumed or moves elsewhere you will not be able to sustain the spending. Perhaps that’s the plan. Capitalism collapses and the only thing left standing is government.
Indeed - “conservatism”, ie, free market capitalism, IS a “racket” for a lot of people to get rich, despite their starting point.
This really irritates elitists who want to keep the classification of “rich” all to themselves.
Socialism is a racket for not only making a lot of people very very poor and very very miserable, but it’s a racket to keep a lot of people under the absolute control of a very few people.
And that’s what they want.

But why would there be a market for these racketeers? Does that not imply there are conservatives out there to consume false-conservatism? Or is Rush’s audience, for instance, entirely made up of liberals slowing down to see the car wreck?
No one ever called Scarborough fair, except maybe Simon & Garfunkel.
