Christmas in the Park at Plaza de Cesar Chavez, San Jose (CBS)

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — A 14-year-old boy was injured in a stabbing at San Jose’s Christmas in the Park event on Saturday night, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at Plaza de Cesar Chavez near Almaden Boulevard and Park Avenue at about 8:50 p.m., San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said.

Arriving officers found a teenage boy who had been stabbed at least once, Morales said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not expected to be life threatening, he said.

Witnesses told police that three suspects in their teens or early 20s were seen fleeing the area.

No one was arrested.

The incident is being investigated as gang related, Morales said. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the San Jose Police Department gang investigation unit at (408) 277-4165.

Name a park after a known communist agitator. Put up a graven image of a bloodthirsty pagan god at one end of it.

What could possibly go wrong???

We must visit the argument that assault knives have no place in the home. We must close the knife show loop hole and ban high capacity knife sets.

I’ll bet dinner as to their skin...nevermind, to say so would be racist.

Gang activity in downtown has been growing for years. Even without the name and sculpture, Christmas in the Park was a dangerous place because of the thugs who like to roam

nah.....I assume you are being ironic....but downtown San Jose has no MLK blvd...(though it does have a library so designated). It is simply Park and Market

No, it’s on Market Street. :)

BTW, the statue of Quetzalcoatl (sp?) looks like a ginormous turd.

I brought my two-year old there a few weeks ago. I had my hand on my Kershaw knife for much of the time. Lots of gang colors and gang/prison tattoos in the crowd. I only saw ONE police officer but there were a few twenty-something women in “security” uniforms. When there are Tea Party rallies in the same park, you can expect a sizable police presence, but not during Christmas in the Park.

Diversity is our strength.

It’s just like Rockwell imagined in the barrios.

Fools.
