“Speaking at the Daimler Detroit Diesel Plant in Redford, Mich.,...”
You mean Detroit Diesel which was started by General Motors years ago, but is now owned by the Krauts? Thanks to the UAW, GM ( and the other two as well) have been “shedding” their original parts trying to continue to be viable businesess. Everybody is tooting their horns about Ford, but as I see it, Ford is in about the same fix as the two that were bailed out. Ford is closing plants all over the world to stay solvent, and has already announced that they will never build another production facility in the United States again.
Ah.... That doesn't mean they won't take an existing plant revamp or expand on existing field, and not go to a green-field and start new or rehab an intercity brown-field.
