A teacher in France has been suspended after allegedly asking pupils to write an essay from the viewpoint of a suicidal teenager, officials say.

The pupils, aged between 13 and 14, were told to imagine reasons for wanting to end their lives and describe their self-disgust.

Angry parents contacted the national education department and sent a copy of the assignment brief to a local paper.

"The wording is beyond shocking," an investigating government official said.

Should be imprisoned. The parents need to be given monetary compensation. The school should be burned down, it is too tainted.

All the kids have to write is:

“Living in France”

“Being French”

“Being a Christian in my own country”

“Having you for a teacher”

You’re never too young to be corrupted by the schools.

Dear Mom and Dad,

I would like to kill myself because my school teacher is an idiot and the thought of having to sit through class while she drones on and on about whatever vapid politically correct hot topic she saw on TV for another 22 weeks is more than I can bear. Please try and understand. She is just really really intolerable. Love you guys!

Sincerely,
the Kid

I had an English teacher, briefly, in High School, who was really into death as a topic. She dwelt on the darker aspects of Edgar Alan Poe, and also the poem Thanatopsis.

One day our teacher failed to arrive; instead, the Principal came in, and dourly informed us that our teacher had been committed to the State mental hospital.

It wasn't too bad because we got a petite, young, rather hot teacher in her place. (Hats off to you, Marie S., wherever you may be.)
