Michigan unions say no right to work

TAMPA, December 10, 2012 – Lansing, Michigan is bracing for an onslaught of protestors following Republican Governor Rick Snyder’s indication that he would sign “Right to Work” legislation currently making its way through the state legislature. President Obama and Harry Reid have both joined Michigan Democrats in denouncing the bill.

As usual, both liberals and conservatives are already demonstrating their skewed perception of reality in weighing in on this debate. President Obama told workers at an engine plant outside Detroit that “what we shouldn't be doing is trying to take away your rights to bargain for better wages,” as if the law would do any such thing.

However, Harry Reid surpassed all in obtuseness when he called the legislation a “blatant attempt by Michigan Republicans to assault the collective bargaining process and undermine the standard of living it has helped foster."

I feel like a kid in a candy store watching my state do the nation proud like the yesteryear of WWII days, Reagan twice, all that.

Screw the feds, Michigan is going places.

Even Detroit is gonna be scrubbed from the books soon.

Unions now have morphed into what was the opposite of what they were fighting against in the early 1900’s. Now they’re the tyranny.

Hey puckhead, is that what happened to Detroit?

Good for Michigan. They’re tired of being bankrupt like California, Illinois, New York, etc. The union thugs have promised to do a recall on Governor Snyder next year. Let them. I’m so sick of these gravy trainers who are sapping the economic life out of the country. We can’t just sit around and let the moocher element of America drag us down into oblivion. We have to fight back. There is no choice left if we want to save the country.

The Unions killed Detroit by pricing their Labor out of the car market.

Currently the Government Unions are killing us taxpayers by the much higher cost of Government Labor than Private Labor.

Labor Unions and Government see money as a zero sum game. Their job is to keep taking more and more and to be increasingly arrogant about it.

The more harm that Unions and Government can do to business and taxpayers the easier it is for them to strike or propose some hokey ‘Cliff’ to bully, gangster-style, money from us who actually do non-predatory work and pay taxes to the predators in the Unions and Government.

Both Unions and Government are so arrogant that they are offended that somehow they should be held accountable for the great harm that they have done to America.

If the Dems try to recall Snyder, I will come over and help MI Conservatives wage the fight to hold on.

BTW, There is also talk in WI about additional state Senate recalls this summer.

It’s not so much that they stick their noses into it but that they lie to the American people in the process.

Warren Consolidated schools is closed today because of the Lansing protest. As far as I’m concerned, that’s an illegal walk-out and every one of those teachers should be fired........

They’ve already tried to recall Snyder. They dropped it the day after Scott Walker won in Wisconsin.

What does the right to work mean to an individual?

Freedom!

The freedom to advance based upon your capabilities and not upon seniority or union politics.

True! Something I posted in an earlier thread:

Article: Obama received loud applause at a Michigan engine plant when he said we shouldn’t
be “taking away your rights to bargain for better wages and working conditions.”

Can that man open his mouth without lying? Ever?

Workers still have a “right” to unionize, to bargain, and all the rest of it. What they do
NOT have is the right to FORCE, under duress, people who DO NOT want to be in a union to be
in one.

Screw you (all) unions.

Peet (who was forced to be in a union to continue his employment)

After the win by Obama in Michigan, and a much larger union presence I expect at least a strong attempt at a recall against Snyder.
