Instability in Egypt, where a newly-elected Islamic government teeters over an angry population, isn´t enough to stop the U.S. from sending more than 20 F-16 fighter jets, as part of a $1 billion foreign aid package. The first four jets are to be delivered to Egypt beginning Jan. 22, a source at the naval air base in Fort Worth, where the planes have been undergoing testing, told FoxNews.com. The North African nation already has a fleet of more than 200 of the planes and the latest shipment merely fulfills an order placed two years ago.

Can’t fly one over Benghazi for an hour or two to save an American life but 0bamugabe can give 20 to the MB.

(Who is John Galt?)
Clearly, Obama is hoping that the planes will fall into the hands of the Marxist insurgents.
Hussein never saw an insurrection he couldn’t love.
Now this wouldn’t be the same Egyptian government that just pardoned and released the A-hole who was behind the Luxor terrorist attack,,,, would it? We wouldn’t be borrowing money from China, so we can GIVE them F-16s. We wouldn’t be THAT evil, would we?
And who besides Israel would they need them for?

I wish I was a test pilot. I know I could at least whittle it down to 19.

Who could these planes be used against, other than Israel and the citizens of Egypt?
Makes sense in a Obamian world view. Give a failed and radicalized nation more advanced weaponry. They are on the brink of another coup d’etat and those planes will eventually fall into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood and then onto HAMAS in Gaza. The HAMAS air farce against the Israelis...happy hunting IAF. When will America learn? She put all of her eggs in the Iranian basket up till 1979, then she put all of her eggs in the Egyptian basket until...well, now. When will they learn?

Didn't the Obama admin say they would intercept Israeli aircraft if they attacked Iran?
Maybe this is Obama's Fast and Furious of the middle east. Looking for deniability.
I doubt any pilot in Egypt would last two minutes against Israeli pilots. Ok, maybe one.

First, we no longer have the money to throw around like this.
Second, shouldn't we wait a while and see how things go in Egypt? They aren't stable yet and their version of democracy may turn out like that in Gaza...
But... I forget! Obama won! Our foreign policy remains to spend money we DON'T have and support Muslim radicals in the hope that they will LIKE us!
Really worked well in Benghazi...
You can bet that there are terrorists planning strikes at our economic backbone right now. They learned from 9/11 the lessons we didn't.
This will turn out good. /sarc

What could be more stupid than selling hundreds of M1 Abrams tanks and F-16’s to an Egyptian dictator?
How about, helping to topple the same Egyptian dictator so the muslim brotherhood could take control of those tanks and planes.

You feel safer, how do you think Israel feels!
Obama arming the Jew-Hating muslin brotherhood.
A few hundred more M1A1s will just add to their fleet - bringing to total M1A1s to 1130. The chassis, turrets, etc are made in Egypt, while the speciallized parts are US made.
The US is not shipping completed tanks to Egypt, just the armor etc needed to made the tanks servicible.

The ‘lost’ engines are most likely being sold for scrap metal by Arab metal dealers. Losses like this are common in most armies including the US.
That aside, the theft was obviously an inside job by Israeli military members. There would have been many very large trucks involved in carting these things off the airbase - not something that happens casually like stealing night vision goggles or some such.
