At a time when national security remains a high priority, it seems that a $7.1 billion Homeland Security Department grant program would focus on terrorism. But according to an investigation by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-OK, the program paid for 13 sno-cone machines in Michigan, a $98,000 underwater robot in Ohio, and an armored vehicle in New Hampshire that patrolled a pumpkin festival.

Where I used to work they would get all kinds of stuff funded under homeland security propitiation’s using six degrees of separation. No scow cone machines though.
Snow cone machines are crucial to the war on terror.
jihadists hate those things as much as drones.
Homeland Security is a joke and a massive waste of taxpayer money; worse, it’s simply yet another means to hassle the law-abiding to justify an enormous budget and ludicrous payroll.
It should never have been created; having been created, it should be disbanded and the money diverted to something useful or - what an idea! - the money returned to the taxpayers who earned it.
