NEW YORK – “Storage Wars” may have a real war brewing with one of its stars.
Dave Hester , one of the show’s cast members, has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the show, according to RadarOnline.
In his lawsuit, Hester is claiming the series is fake, and he says when he made complaints to the network about the staged portions of the show he was fired, Radar reported.

A buddy of mine owns a small chain of storage places in KY. He *hates* what these shows have done to the unclaimed property liquidation/disposal part of the business.

This guy was one of the most annoying dopes on that show. And apparently one of the dumbest.
All of those auction/pawn/trailer trash in the woods doing something crazy shows are fake! They are made from day ONE to be that way. How did he not figure that out? Did he think that actual people would leave valuable artifacts in a storage garage THAT often or that people in real life talk like they are reading lines for the forth time off a script?

I've put a whole lot of stuff in storage. Not too many gold doubloons or antique rifles, or whatever. Usually, it's crap that I should have thrown out anyway. :-)
Makes me wonder if the interesting stuff is 1) Planted or 2) They need to buy 100 units a week to find 1 or 2 worth talking about.
Either way, it looks like a long, boring physical job, with very little payout.
Wait...you mean those guys on Pawn Stars don’t really buy genuine samurai swords made by a 16th century master swordsmith and engraved with the Tokugawa seal for a couple of hundred bucks???

I like the show, but you know in the back of your mind that they stage some portions of the show.
I think Hester was probably good for ratings, but I did not like the fact that he stated he would never deal with any guns whatsoever, I presume this means collectables as well.

I managed a large mini storage for several years. We had auctions every two months.
People leave VERY valuable stuff in there sometimes. Sometimes they store trash. You never know.
