ST. PETERSBURG If the safety of those you love was threatened, how would you respond? Many people contemplate this question with commingled curiosity and fear.
For Jeremy Reed and Anna Soto, the answer came early Sunday when a pair of violent men burst into the bedroom where they slept with their 7-day-old daughter.
By then, one of them had grabbed the keys to Soto's Mazda 6. They barreled out the front door and into the car. Reed ran back to the bedroom and emerged with a .22 rifle belonging to Soto.
He stepped outside and pointed the gun at them, staring at them through the Mazda's windshield. They ducked. By then, Reed could see blue lights flashing. He didn't shoot.

Are there any young couples with babies who bother to get married anymore?
Looks like it is not Mr. Soto’s “society.” Great parenting there dad and mom. :)
Those weren’t men.
Those weren’t men.
St pete can be a very rough area.
On a side note, the average front door is very easy to kick in.
Why get married?
He was of course, lucky. But his instincts are right, and if I were him I’d consider this my one free pass, and get a CCW and have something a little more convenient in case another set of “white eyes and gold teeth” show up at the foot of the bed in the middle of the night.
The strangers who came into their home were Anthony James Stewart, 29, of St. Petersburg, and Maurice Emmanuel Climes, 27, of Clearwater, police would later say. Stewart and Climes are felons. Each has served time in state prison, state records show, and between them they have been arrested 43 times in Florida.
43 arrests between the two of them. Both felons.
It's really a shame that the guy didn't have an AK to blast through the windshield with.
Oh, maybe because it is the best guarantee that the little baby you cherish so much will grow up in the only kind of home in which he or she can develop to full potential. That assumes you actually care about the kid.
Hopefully Jack Booted Nazi Thug Criminal Lover Angela Corey doesn’t prosecute these people. Knowing our RINO Gov and AG, they probably have Corey on the phone as we speak
That isn’t what we (as a nation) have been teaching our children. No we’re teaching the women they don’t need men and the men to be children.
You’re right there. In this story, the guy saved the day. But if this woman remains a “fiancee” (at least for media purposes) and never a bride, the kid will grow up in Obamaland: with food, clothing, shelter, education (such as it is) and even protection in times of trouble (such as that is) coming from union thugs on the federal payroll.
>> He didn’t shoot.
Morally justified in my opinion, but possibly not legal. Would suck if he ended up in jail for dispatching the perps at that point.
“It’s really a shame that the guy didn’t have an AK to blast through the windshield with.”
It’s a proven fact that an AK47 will not penetrate a glass windshield if it is not fired or at least thrown.
It’s also true that a .22 wouldn’t penetrate a windshield if it WERE fired.
it was his own windshield, right?
Its also true that a .22 wouldnt penetrate a windshield if it WERE fired.
Let’s try it on your windshield with you inside
Straight on, it's going right through that windshield.
I have been married for almost 50 years and learned a lot furing those years. My wife and I love each other, but I have seen marriage ruin some really good relationships.
Lets try it on your windshield with you inside
Dang, I'd love to Figment but it looks like my social calendar is pretty full right now.

Uhmmmm ...I’d explode...
explains the gold teefs.
If Obama had a set of Fraternal Twins.
“Straight on, it’s going right through that windshield.”
I wouldn’t trust a windshield to protect me from a 22 from any angle. I’ve seen too many odd results from a 22 to underestimate what it could do
