Jacob Tyler Roberts, 22, was the masked man who stormed into Clackamas Town Center Tuesday afternoon, fatally shooting two people and wounding another before turning a gun on himself, police said.
Roberts does not appear to have a criminal history in Oregon, according to court records. He had two speeding tickets earlier this year.
Court records show that Roberts and a woman, Hannah Shoemake, were evicted last summer from their Happy Valley apartment.
Roberts' mother answered her door at her Portland home, but declined to comment to an Oregonian reporter. "I loved my son very much," she said.

No. Not really. Whether it was an octagenarian in a land yacht with his foot stuck on the gas pedal thinking it was the brake, or a demented person who had access to a gun, the outcome isn’t much different.

I am really curious if there is any connection between the 2 people killed and the shooter. And .. why would he stop shooting and kill himself if he hadn’t accomplished his goal? It could have been a “he liked her - she didn’t like him” type of thing; or the other guy moved in on her and she didn’t pay attention to the shooter anymore.
Jealousy .. unrequited love; lots of possibilities.
Sheriff (early on) commented there was no connection, but maybe there was something the police are just not aware of yet. The reason I’m curious is that he seemed to target a “couple” .. not totally random .. and he could have mistaken the girl who was wounded as being his real target.
Just thinkin’ out loud.

A third shooting victim, Kristina Shevchenko, 15, was taken to a hospital and has undergone an initial surgery, according to a Facebook page set up by her family members. Family members said a bullet bruised her lung but avoided piercing any major organs.

Also had a missile launch from North Korea, but the media hears a man went and killed some people in a mall. They assume it is a white guy, so get hysterical... Funny how these shootings re used to scare everyone, in the inner cities of this country, people are shot and killed everyday, but the media doesn’t care because the shooters are known/assumed at the outset to be black.

DeCosta ran up an escalator, past people who had dropped for cover and glass littering the floor.
