During WWII, the Danes evacuated the Danish Jews to Sweden in a heroic night sea rescue. The Danish king said that he would wear the yellow star demanded of Jews by the Nazis.

It wasn't only the king, all Danes wore the yellow star to prevent the Nazis from identifying the Jews. That was 69 years ago. Today it is not safe for a Jew to wear a kipah in Copenhagen! So sad!
