Lindsey Graham: Obama Needs to “Man Up” on Entitlement Reform

Sen. Lindsey Graham, a member of the Budget Committee, tells Newsmax he will refuse to approve an increase in the debt ceiling unless a deal is reached on major entitlement reform—and he is convinced House Speaker John Boehner will refuse as well.

The South Carolina Republican also says President Obama should “man up” and create a lasting legacy by saving Medicare and Social Security with those reforms.

And he insists defense spending should not suffer significant new cuts because “there is no Social Security without national security.” …

He’s not going to “man up” on ANYTHING. He has never really been a MAN in his whole career. Voting “Present” on 99% of every vote he ever did is NOT being a man. On the cliff situation, Nasty Poolousy and Dingy Harry are carrying his water while he jets around the Country, lying his soul to a charred cinder in front of brainless leach sychophants, or playing golf, or ANYTHING other than actual effort for the good of the Nation.

By its very definition, Social Security is an entitlement. There is also no vault of “your money” somewhere. ALL of the direct deposit checks handed out today are financed via payroll taxes or borrowed and added to the national debt. Is there more “morality” towards a SS beneficiary who paid SS taxes during their working years vs. an illegal who is getting Food Stamps and unemployment? You bet. But let’s stop playing games here. The business of America used to be business. Today, the business of America is Entitlements. 70% of all Federal dollars spent are for entitlements. It makes me sad to see people here on FR of all places who refuse to deal with it.
