After New Mexico police revealed they’d uncovered an alleged murder-for-hire plot to kill Justin Bieber, the Canadian pop star’s management has released a statement saying they take “every precaution to protect and insure the safety of Justin and his fans.”
Other than that, the star and his security team have been tight-lipped about how seriously they take the threat.
News of the bizarre assassination plot made news around the world Wednesday after Albuquerque’s KRQE reported that Mark Staake, 41, and his nephew Tanner Ruane, 23, had allegedly been hired to castrate and murder the singer.
The puppet master behind the scheme is Dana Martin — currently serving a 978-year term for rape and murder — who allegedly turned to Staake in Las Cruces prison, offering him a $2,500 bounty for each of Bieber’s testicles, according to a police affidavit.
The alleged plot was planned right down to the paisley tie that would be used to strangle the star.

“I was going to go ‘Snip, Snip,’” Ruane had said to Martin in a recorded jailhouse conversation, according to investigator Clinton Norris of the New Mexico state police.
Four people in total are said to have been targeted in Martin’s alleged murder-for-hire scheme: Bieber, one of the pop star’s bodyguards and two of Martin’s former acquaintances in Vermont, where Ruane and Staake were arrested.
In a strange twist, the plot reportedly broke down when Martin himself told police about his hired guns before they could carry out the murders.
Martin, 45, is said to be obsessed with Bieber, and has a tattoo of the singer on his leg. He’d sent several letters to the star and became upset after he didn’t get a response. “This perceived slight made Mr. Martin upset,” the police report reads.

My only interest in Justin Bieber is for his potential in the future. It appears that Mark Wahlberg has taken on somewhat of a mentor role with the kid to help him transition to acting when his 15 minutes of singing runs out. Apparently the kid is smart enough to know that he has an expiration date.
Wahlberg says the kid has real acting talent and is working on developing it.

Creepy as hell. I remember some whackadoo about 10-15 years ago was arrested in some plot to abduct Steven Spielberg, tape him up with duct tape and do ... stuff.
Just wait for his fans to grow up, and he’ll admit what was obvious from the start.
