Rat response: Take a house bill, gut it, re-write it in the Senate, pass it in the senate, then state that Republicans who voted for the bill are now trying to back out of the agreement.

Haven't been watching this game for long, have you?

The man is a star. The fate of the world depends upon a brilliantly executed last minute cave. It's an exact repeat of one year ago. What more can vaudeville ask for.

Because Bonehead loves a deal. a Grandest of All Bargain.
No matter how bad it is, or how it will kill off the conservative movement.

Entitlement spending has to be cut. This is not a political opinion. Entitlements have to be cut in order to balance the budget and save the country. Unfortunately, cutting entitlements is not popular with voters. The GOP knows that if they go out on a limb and put on paper actual entitlement cuts, the Democrats and their media allies will crucify them and demagog the issue.

So, the GOP is trying to get Obama to agree to entitlement cuts so the cuts can be presented to the country as a bipartisan agreement, so the GOP can dodge much of the blame. The problem is that Obama seems unwilling to consider any entitlement cuts even with the GOP offering the olive branch of higher taxes.

They’ve done that already. Several times. The Senate has tossed the proposed budget out. Several times.
The Senate hasn’t passed a budget in nearly four years.

I think the deal is already made, they're just waiting for zero hour. At one minute to midnight there'll be no time for analysis or debate or even reading the bill.

Pass it, adjourn for the holidays, find out what's in it next year.

Sound familiar?

Because the MSM refuses to be honest. No matter what the Republicans do, they will be blamed for anything bad that happens. If anything good happens, President Obama will be given credit.

The problem is *not* the politicians. It is the MSM that works tirelessly to elect “progressives” of both parties and to defeat constitutionalists... there are no more Democrat constitutionalists.
