These were all topics an edition of ESPN’s “First Take” that concerned former Baylor QB and Washington Redskins star Robert Griffin III.

When asked about what RG3 had to say about being an African American quarterback, ESPN panelist Rob Parker, an African American himself, (Twitter handle @RobParkerESPN) had this to say. Transcriptions came from Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post.

Yup, RG3 is well-spoken, seems very polite and goes about his job in a professional manner. Lacks "street" cred.

Not enough of a thug for some, apparently.

Please pardon my ignorance of curren African-American slang, but does ‘cornball brother’ mean the same as calling RG3 an “uncle Tom” or “Oreo”? It does not sound complementary to me.

He doesn’t walk around with his pants around his knees and his dirty drawers hanging out. He can’t be down with the cause if he’s well spoken and intelligent. I would love to hear what this guy says about Obama. At least RG3 is a great athlete.

Let the Bread and Circus Crowd of Obamatons debate this crap as Fedzilla moves towards collapse and States like Michigan get their perveribal $hi+ together. Keep the Stupid voters in a fog, lets get somethings done at the State Level. And in my heart I think Obee wants to destroy these sports too, see the contracts make the rich, independent and afterwards small businessmen often succesful that pass their wealth along to their kids. Can’t have that in Obee’s World of Positive Liberties by the 2nd Constitution is he inacting without a document, these Comrades are not playing nice and won’t want to have what they earned redistributed and some are too big, they ain’t gonna like it...

I thought it sort of referred to being nappy- or nubbly-headed, like a ‘real’ black man, only blond or yellow in practice, the way a cornball would look.

Though I guess I don’t really give a fig. These guys are openly racist now and are ever nearer to declaring open war on whites.

Bring it.

I have no idea what “cornball brother” means, but it obviously wasn’t intended to be a compliment.

You mean RG3 is anti slavery, as in a non Dem plantation person of color?
What will they think of next?

Isn’t black racism small and ugly! Just as ugly as white racism. And we can dispense with the lies that black racism does not matter because blacks have no power. We have a racist black president who appointed a racist Attorney General, now. It’s time for black racists to be confronted, tagged and shunned.
