I agree that we should NOT put these troops in Turkey. But we have to remember that Turkey is a member of NATO and the Patriots missiles are a defensive weapon.

If you fail to do this....when you leave....your hardware stays there in Turkey, with the Turks.

...if Odungo has his way, he'll leave troops too

So why is this our problem again? Can't the Turks protect themselves?

BTW, flashback to 2003:

Come on, now. Everyone knows there are no WMD’s in the Middle East - that's just a Republican myth.

The democrat administration must protect this LIE at all costs.

The prime directive of Tyrant Obama is protection
of Islam and Islamic countries.

So, Barry instigates the whole Arab uprispring and then comes up with ‘solutions’ to help solve the quigmire of his own creation. Brilliant foreign policy there.

I know none of us here care for Obama and his policies.... BUT that has got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read.

How come no threats from the Russians this time? They have ALWAYS opposed defensive missile batteries in Turkey... What the hell is going on?

At this point Russia seems to have read the tea leaves, and accepts that the Syrian leadership is about to fall.

That’s actually a good thing. The last thing we needed was Russian involvement there.

Now the only question is, how will the rebel takeover affect the situation in Southern Lebanon?

We now have serious unrest across North Africa, the Arabian peninsula, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. Obama’s mid-east policy just keeps reaping rewards.

About the most I could say in his defense, is that it certainly doesn’t help. What’s truly terrifying is who he has as advisers. He’s lost in space, and they’re nothing more than enablers for a guy lost in space.

IMHO If the Sunnis are successful in outing the Alawite govt. of Assad in Syria, next up will be taking over in Lebanon by outing the Shiites and what is left of the Christians. -Tom

And your view of Christian safety in Syria must also turn very dim.
