Police: Man caught with Mac 11 machine pistol after South Loop robbery

Police caught a robbery suspect with a Mac 11 machine pistol in the South Loop neighborhood late Thursday night, authorities said.

The 23-year-old man was arrested in the alley between Wabash and Michigan avenues just south of 18th Street just before midnight.

He was also carrying a small amount of marijuana and the gun had an extended clip that could hold more than 30 rounds, police said.

NOT Automatic, and not useless. It can send bullets out the barrel when you pull the trigger. I seem to remember they originally sold for about $120. The guy who wants almost $600 for it is dreaming.

Mac-11s were great because .380 is subsonic out of the box. Great with a suppressor on full auto. The perp here probably had a semi-auto with no suppressor, though.
