Could the massacre in Connecticut be our Dunblane? The Dunblane massacre led to even stricter gun control laws in the U.K. including bans on the ownership of various weapons.

The result of that event was the essential banning of handguns by private citizens. The result of that banning was noted in a 16 July 2001 BBC report entitled “Handgun crime ‘up’ despite ban” which noted that in “Great” Britain “A new study suggests the use of handguns in crime rose by 40% in the two years after the weapons were banned.” Katie Pavlich’s Dec 11, 2012 report entitled “Gun Crime Soars in England Where Guns Are Banned” noted “ . . . data from 2009 shows gun violence in the UK has increased by 89 percent in the past decade. . .”

We do NOT want to replicate the Brits failures.
