US President Barack Obama wept as he addressed the nation in the aftermath of the school shootings in Connecticut.
Mr Obama paused repeatedly as he struggled to keep his composure while speaking of the children who had been killed and the milestones in their lives they would never have - birthdays, graduations, weddings.
"Our hearts are broken today," he said, at times using a finger to wipe tears at the corners of his eyes.
Mr Obama said he had reacted to news of the elementary school shooting first as a parent.
He added that he and First Lady Michelle would do what any other parent in America would do - "hug our children a little tighter".
"There is not a parent in America who does not feel the same overwhelming grief I do," he said.
Mr Obama called for "meaningful action" regardless of politics.

There were no tears!!! This Obama dude has no religion, no culture, no feeling for friend and for alike!!! He is only power hungry, a second Hitler in the making!!! Where there is no religion there is no safe and secure society. We now have elected a POTUS and federal government where everything goes, all is allowed and tolerated, good and bad!!!

I'd describe my response to watching Obama as "emotional" but fail to see what about Obama's performance as "emotional."
True enough, Obama was attempting to look emotional, to appear saddened even to force a trickle of a tear from his eye but none would come despite his disgusting habit of wiping the corner of an eye with his middle finger.
Unfortunately, no tears would come despite his continuously wiping his eye(s).
I know I am hardened when it comes to my response to Obama, he sickens me on first glance but nothing about the man's demeanor was "emotional" in any way.
Even on FOX, the news reader referred to Obama's appearance as "emotional," when there was nothing sad or even slightly reflective about his appearance.
At least with BJ, who could cry on command, one could refer to his demeanor as "emotional." Not so with OBozo and I'm sick of people pretending to see things that don't exist - like tears!

Obama certainly tried to mimic an emotional demeanor.
I don’t believe him for a second. I had to hear him, his speech was on in the break room while I was there.
I found his delivery to be forced.
I honestly don’t believe he feels anything for anyone other than himself.
To say that he sickens me is to put my reaction to him mildly.

Obama’s obviously phony “choking up” disgusted the hell out of me. That vile bastard should have had the decency to show no emotion rather than fake it for the cameras. Of course, all the news reports said the president “teared up”. A nation of morons, led by an anti-American Marxist. Great. Just great.

OMgosh...I just clicked on Hulu to get away from all this news coverage and what do you think they had on their main page?? Yes the clip on Obama wiping his fake tear away with the caption “the President “fights backs tears” as he addresses the school tragedy. The minute I saw Obama this afternoon I immediately knew he would make it all about him and the media is in a swoon over how sensitive and caring he is.
