Obama promises 'meaningful action' after Newtown school shooting (Obama's Reichstag Fire?)
Guardian UK ^

Barack Obama wiped away tears at the White House as he expressed grief over the children killed in the Connecticut massacre and promised "meaningful action" to prevent similar shooting rampages in the future.

Obama has promised to act on gun control after earlier shooting incidents but subsequently done nothing implement any changes. Over the last four years of his presidency, restrictions on guns – in particular concealed weapons – have become more relaxed and gun sales soared.

There have been five major shooting sprees since he has been president, three of them this year. This one is different because the majority of the victims in the school in Newtown are young children, but the most recent opinion polls have shown overwhelming opposition to gun restrictions.

AWB and National Registration are coming I think. Hope I am wrong, but our President is power hungry.

All those registered guns were tragically lost in a boating accident when my canoe capsized.

Norway, a country with restrictive gun laws still had a guy obtain an assault type weapon and kill 87 kids.

parents be parents, promote marriage, real marriage not the failed social marriage of homosexuals.

That is the problem, guns have beeb around hundreds of years, mass shottings did nto happen in the 50’s but they do today after the left destroyed the family and we got lazy parents.

I have kdis BTW and we sit down eevry night and talk about the days events we raise them with manners and hard work, my boys can fight but respect women, my daughter is a lady and all conservatives

Sixty million gun owners with over a hundred million guns plus a billion or more of ammunition.

Think of this. Malloy repealed the death penalty in CT. If this creep didn’t end up dead during the incident, he would most likely spend life in prison.

Trying to prevent mass murders by banning guns is like trying to end drunk driving by taking cars away from sober people.

99.9% of gun owners wouldn’t even contemplate an act like this...but we’re about to be COMMANDED to pay with our rights and our property for the acts of an evil lunatic. Let’s see how many people agree to be commanded.

Most people see and fear the obvious opportunity for an attack on the 2nd Amendment here, and rightly so. But the psychological "community" of witch doctors is now licking its chops, too, with this incident that bolsters their claim to "authority" and the need to "do something."

The power of state psychologists to seize and control children and adults is unbelievable, and understandably kept fairly hushed. But what we don't lose by keeping our guns we may lose by failing to guard against the threat of being declared "incompetent" by a politicized psychology. That is all a tyrant would need to take our arms without the appearance of violating the 2nd Amendment.

And how are they going to take every single gun. Only possibility is that they’ll eventually break down doors ad search every single home in America.

It’s shameful how these evil people try to push their policies using a tragedy like this one. Why don’t they recommend using some of the federal funds they’d use for gun control to make these schools safer? No wait, it’s not really the people’s safety at issue here now is it?

This call was a first responders nightmare.

This is something that those men and women will have to live with all their lives.

I hope it is understood here that first responders see some terrible things and have to live with them.It does not mean that I do not have sympathy for the families or the children. The police and ambulances crews and Firefighters who witnessed the aftermath of this won’t sleep well tonight either.

Any time the libs start a gun control drive an exploitable tragedy appears, right on time.
