The Connecticut school shooting that left 27 people dead including as many as 20 children has prompted Hollywood celebrities to demand stricter gun control because they believe it will prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
Too soon to speak out about a gun-crazy nation? No, too late, far-left filmmaker Michael Moore tweeted. At least THIRTY-ONE school shootings since Columbine.
The way to honor these dead children is to demand strict gun control, free mental health care, and an end to violence as public policy, he added.
Screenwriter Kevin Williamson agreed. We need gun control. Stop defending your right to bear arms. Youre stupid, he tweeted.
Pop singer Michelle Branch tweeted: Gun control people!!! My heart is breaking. As a parent this is my worst nightmare.
Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones said that gun control is our only road to freedom via her official Twitter account.
Freedom from the fear of senselessly losing children. Im so saddened. WE NEED LAWS NOW, she added.
CNN host Piers Morgan wondered aloud on Twitter whether President Barack Obama would have the courage to stand up to the American gun lobby. He also tweeted the hashtag #guncontrol.

“How many of these celebrities are willing to have guns taken away from their armed bodyguards?”
Exactly — like when fat Rosie O’Donnell said that regular citizens shouldn’t have guns, but, of COURSE, the guys who guard her children carry guns. They are, after all, HER children and much more valuable than regular citizens’ children.
I say the celebrities should exchange their bodyguards’ guns for cell phones with 911 on speed dial. That’ll be effective. The police will arrive in minutes when seconds count.
Harsh control of gun control advocates is required. When there is mortal fear in their hearts their advocay will abate.
Their Lawlessness can not be tolerated.
First you a-holes get rid of your body guards.
I propose a new law outlawing them for the liberal wealthy. Start with the actors, Warren Buffet, and all politicians in favor of stricter gun laws.
They should be willing to do that.
Oh, they want exemptions??
If Lanza said he wanted to kill 20 children through abortion, the left would be demanding that we pay for it, since it’s ... “healthcare.”
I agree. I have a list of which celebs I will contribute no money to via movies, DVD rentals or via advertizing dollar on their shows. Defund the idiots on dollar at a time.
Celebs should just shut up and performed. We do not need to hear their views on anything. I might be getting old and cranky these days. My tolerance for morons these days has moved to about zero.
And they hire security who are armed with....gasp...GUNS...
You must have pulled that one out of you aZZ. Some 22 were knifed, none died, that's what I read.
That would be “your,” not “you.” Too quick on the post button.
And how many of these Leftist celebs go around with armed security? Hypocrites!
Niether of these morons know how simple it is to make a gun. Someone ought to tell them to look up zipguns.
Then perhaps all firearms used in movies should be nerf guns.
Can’t you just imagine a tense scene where a bad guy draws his nerf gun and a good guy beats him to the draw and yells...”BANG BANG BANG!” And the bad guy falls.
Why would anyone care what some Hollywood slut thinks?
And they lived "happily" ever after.
there was once a time that people that were mentally ill could be separated from society
Good point; that is what created the “homeless problem” which is always blamed on Republicans, even though it was the libs that demanded that these people be “freed”.
