Mike Huckabee blames getting God out of classroom for shootings

Americans should blame their schools, and removal of God from the classroom, for Friday’s murders of schoolchildren in Connecticut, according to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a 2008 Republican presidential candidate who is now a pundit and host on Fox News.

Huckabee did not mention guns, gun culture, or assault rifles in talking about the country’s latest mass killing, but said on Fox News:

“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be surprised that schools would become places of carnage?”

Huckabee is a Baptist minister. As governor of Arkansas, he pardoned Maurice Clemmons, the Arkansas felon who went on to gun down in 2009 four Lakewood, Wash., police officers in cold blood. Clemmons was pardoned after he asked Huckabee to show compassion, vowed that he had changed his life since “the angel of death has visited and taken away my dear, sweet mother.”

Huckabee seemed to see church-state separation as responsible for the horrors Friday at an elementary school, where 18 grammar school pupils died.

“We’ve made it (school) a place where we don’t talk about eternity, life, what responsibility means, accountability — that we’re not going to have to be accountable to the police if they catch us, but one day we stand before, you know holy God in judgment,” said Huckabee. “If we don’t believe that, then we don’t fear that.”

As others were calling for a national discussion on guns, Huckabee said it is time to look upstairs.

“Maybe we ought to let (God) in on the front end, and we wouldn’t have to call Him up when it’s all said and done at the back end,” Huckabee argued.

More like Christian social interaction, education, justice and ethics and inspiration cleansed out of music, art and culture and replaced; all replaced with the opposite and named “multicultural” and “edgy.”

What is the opposite of Christianity? There will not be a void left with Leftists turn everything up-side-down. Is evil going to fill the void? How about Islam? Liberals are taking us back to the stone age.

I fail to understand why people try and blame the actions of an evil man on anyone or anything other than that. It is not God’s fault. It is not a lack of God in the classroom or anywhere else for that matter. People are capable of great evil blame the lack on this man’s heart and nothing else.

When are public schools teach young people that there is no God and they are nothing but highly(?) evolved animals. Why are you surprised when someone acts like an animal? All actions have unintended consequences! Very Sad day for humanity....

There wasn’t any mention of god in the classroom when I started school 70 years ago!

Well, there was for me when I started some 62 years ago, and it lasted all the way through to my baccalaureate service. This was in “godless” coastal California. Will wonders never cease?

The nation has been spiraling away from integrity and self reliance since the days of the Clinton administration with the help of the lame media. Anyone who thinks that God does not play a huge role in our society to our government are just foolish of not knowing how this nation was built by the founders. If we had a leader at the top level; bringing people together. versus constantly attacking a portion of the citizenry; who they claim to represent, people would be lifted up rather than wanting a pay back, a handout or a slice of the pie which they feel they deserve. When you have an outlook as it’s.. me me, selfish cowardly people do crazy things. Welcome to liberalism. The problem is there not owning firearms.

When I went to school 60 years ago, we had prayer in the school, but nothing about God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Both were done every morning.

When we take God Out (of any place) it becomes godless (That is no God)
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good, without partiality, and without partiality.”(James 3:17)]

Would to God these things would again be taught in all places!

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all nations that forget God.” (Psalm 9:17)

“If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteousness do!” (Psalm 11:3)

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD....(Psalm 33:12a)

“Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)

“By mercy, and truth equiqity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil)” (Proverbs 16:6)

It is not the schools responsibility to teach about Gd. It is the parents’. What did huckabee teach his kids? The one monster tortured and hung puppies. He’d get my “ most likely to shoot up a school” nomination.

The nation’s schools should show a loyal allegiance to their own country and saying a pledge should be done. If you don’t have a united country; there’s no country period. Just because 1 or 2 don’t like it; doesn’t mean the founders want it suddenly changed as it has been done. One nation, under God.

>> Politicizing this tragedy is just as evil as the shooting itself.

The anti-gun bastards are exploiting the massacred children.

You sound like a libertarian... And I didn’t say Libertarian.

I agree it’s not necessarily the schools responsibility to “teach” about God, but neither should the schools actively disassociate Godliness from education. That said, I’m getting tired of the atheistic, Leftwing bullcrap that’s facilitating the demonic destruction of our Country.

It is 2012 now, many years later, and California is like a conservative's paradise, I am from Texas and said the Lord's prayer everyday, and the pledge of allegiance, and Texas is conservative heck!

Is that what you are trying to say?

Huckster got this one right. We need daily prayer in America’s public schools plus I would start off the day with 20 minutes of jumping jacks and calisthenics. Not that any of today’s edumacators care about that.

Gay and feminist agendas in and (daily) prayer out summarizes it
