Mike Huckabee blames getting God out of classroom for shootings

Americans should blame their schools, and removal of God from the classroom, for Friday’s murders of schoolchildren in Connecticut, according to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a 2008 Republican presidential candidate who is now a pundit and host on Fox News.

Huckabee did not mention guns, gun culture, or assault rifles in talking about the country’s latest mass killing, but said on Fox News:

“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be surprised that schools would become places of carnage?”

Huckabee is a Baptist minister. As governor of Arkansas, he pardoned Maurice Clemmons, the Arkansas felon who went on to gun down in 2009 four Lakewood, Wash., police officers in cold blood. Clemmons was pardoned after he asked Huckabee to show compassion, vowed that he had changed his life since “the angel of death has visited and taken away my dear, sweet mother.”

Huckabee seemed to see church-state separation as responsible for the horrors Friday at an elementary school, where 18 grammar school pupils died.

“We’ve made it (school) a place where we don’t talk about eternity, life, what responsibility means, accountability — that we’re not going to have to be accountable to the police if they catch us, but one day we stand before, you know holy God in judgment,” said Huckabee. “If we don’t believe that, then we don’t fear that.”

As others were calling for a national discussion on guns, Huckabee said it is time to look upstairs.

“Maybe we ought to let (God) in on the front end, and we wouldn’t have to call Him up when it’s all said and done at the back end,” Huckabee argued.

Huckabee nails it. I know the ‘RATS don’t want to hear it but he speaks the truth. The commie libs with their crocodile tears need to go tell it to the aCLU.

When life is not sacred, then no life is sacred.

It’ that simple, and that sad.

He’s right..I am not a big Huckabee fan but he’s right..schools teach children about gay marriage but refuse to teach them about God. Just look at what is going on right now, school after school taking out Christmas plays..we are removing God from everything..that is what is wrong with our society(Besides other things)people have NO value for human life anymore.

Mike, brother, you’re far more dead-on than you possibly can know.

I said the same thing today as I talked with people.

We’ve got to get God back into our schools.

It's not that they just took God out and left a vacuum.

They then filled the government schools with evil.

As an agnostic, I'd say that's as good an explanation as any.

Although correlation does not imply causation, there is no denying the fact that that was the point where both education and societal mores started to decline.

Whether is was the negative response of an actual benevolent God or the loss of civility and structure, something sure happened!

The liberals set the stage for these murders when they tossed God out of the classroom and replaced him with condoms, cucumbers and homosexual "marriage".

I heard that knucklehead who replaced Mike Savage whining about this tonight and asking "Where was God? How could he allow this to happen?" Sorry Jerry. The commie libs threw him out of the classroom many, many moons ago.

Chasing God out of the classroom sure didn’t usher in The Age of Reason. Saying prayers for those little kids and their families .

The same liberals who ask “Where was God” are the same ones who don’t believe in God in the first place. Atheists remove the Nativity scene from towns..remove Christmas plays from school because some are “offended.” This is what happens when God is removed from our lives..schools can discuss how awesome it is for a man to marry another man yet they refuse to say a school prayer in the morning

It is not getting God out of the classrooms, it getting God out of the culture. If we do not believe in God or an after-life, we don’t value life, our own or others’. There is no higher power than the state and if we don’t respect the state, which most of don’t, who and what do we respect? Who sets our moral compass?

That’s the problem with young people, no respect for anyone or anything, not even themselves. All that matters is the next good time, the next high.

People have been calling what happened today, “evil”, but what is “evil” if there is no God?

Politicizing this tragedy is just as evil as the shooting itself.

The comments after that blog are disgusting and actually make the point that Huckabee is making, those people themselves are so removed from God that they don’t understand what He has meant to this country and the fabric of our society.

These pagan politicians and “educators” attempt to look and sound profound when they sagely intone, “Where was God when this man went on his rampage?”

God is wherever He went when He was given the bum’s rush and thrown out of our schools, courts, traditionally religious holidays and even many churches.

Since reading the book, “THE HARBINGER” and now re-reading it to better grasp the deep implications of what it is saying, I consider things like todays carnage in Connecticut another sign, another harbinger of what’s to become more and more common; unless and until the U.S.A. as a Nation repents and once more embraces our National Motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

This is one time I fully agree with Huckabee, as far as he went.

Huckabee said exactly what I said to my husband, except I said that eliminated God from the culture, not just the schools. I’ve been thinking about this ever since the football player shot his girlfriend 9 times in the head and then turned the gun on himself. I was thinking about it in terms of the Black culture and the inner cities, but today reminded me that it the culture of the whole country.

Obama is evil, too.
