Boehner caves on taxes(the GOP will get nothing and we will get higher taxes now or later)

It's only a "partial" cave, in that Boehner agrees that the tax rates should go up on those making more than $1 million rather than $250,000 a year.

But if Boehner caves on taxes, who can believe him when it comes to any other red line Obama will try and force him to cross.

Associated Press:

Signaling new movement in "fiscal cliff" talks, House Speaker John Boehner has proposed raising the top rate for earners making more than $1 million, a person familiar with the negotiations said. President Barack Obama, who wants higher top rates for households earning more than $250,000, has not accepted the offer, this person said.

The proposal, however, indicated progress in talks that had appeared stalled. The person would only discuss the plan on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the negotiations.

As part of a broader budget deal, Boehner is still seeking more spending cuts than Obama has proposed, particularly in mandatory health care spending. Boehner has asked for a long-term increase in eligibility age for Medicare and for lower costs-of-living adjustments for Social Security.

Boehner's tax proposal was first reported by Politico.

A Boehner aide would not comment on the report.

At issue are expiring tax rates that would automatically increase on Jan. 1 for virtually every income tax payer if Congress and the president don't act. Steep budget cuts are also scheduled to kick in, unless Congress and Obama agree to forestall them with other deficit reduction measures.

Yet more evidence that the radio caller was telling the absolute truth when he said, “I was in a meeting after Obama got elected and I was told by the Democratic officials in that meeting that we were gonna get billions of dollars that was gonna come down the pike, our way, and what we were to do with it was, we were supposed to build a…. We are gonna build an army of Democratic patronage jobs…. gonna completely freeze up the Republicans forever and ever…”
“It’s not a stimulus package; it’s not pork; it’s a job patronage system.
“…be bigger than the United States Army—that’s what we were told; there’s gonna be more employees working for the Democrats in this patronage system than the United States Army.”

The Narcisist in Chief is having a control tantrum , a hissey-fit , and Boehner has no spine , nor moral resolve .
It time for a change .
We are being represented by a leader with no spine , argueing with an orator who cannot lead.
A jellyfish has more spine than Boehner .
Go figure !

“(the GOP will get nothing and we will get higher taxes now or later)”

That would be, now AND later. Wait till those under $250,000 see what they voted for.

We have one party. There are different factions, but it is one party. It is kept in power by a parasite class, voter fraud and a complicit media. Any true conservative is the target of a vicious campaign of lies and innuendo.

This isn’t a cave, come on. Raising the tax rate on people making more than $1 million a year means nothing, and that’s why Obama will reject it. The number of people who make a “salary” that high could probably fit inside a convention center ballroom somewhere. Entertainers and athletes basically. Everyone else who makes that kind of money can easily shift more of their income to dividends and capital gains, etc., so they’re not going to be paying any more in taxes.

I see this as a shrewd move by Boehner to expose the fact that Obama is not really looking to target the “millionaires and billionaires”. He’ll be protecting them, because they contribute to his and other Democrats’ campaigns. Obama wants to target the small business owners, and highly successful professionals who do make between $250K and $1 mil. They are the people who would actually get caught with a higher tax rate, not those making over $1 mil.

Now that Boehner has conceded these taxes on the top earners (in exchange for dramatic spending cuts), I suppose it will eventually be part of the deal, but Obama has refused the offer, which makes him look like the bad guy. R's are willing to work a deal, Obie is not.

Boehner probably knew it would be refused, so no harm yet. CBS News has begun questioning Obie's willingness to compromise and this verifies, actually strengthening our case, and redirects pending blame on them, not on us.

Seriously, do you think there is any real difference in the parties? They both want one thing, to be re-elected. Secondary to that, they want more power.

We are past the point of no return, elections are rigged, there can be no third party, there are more that get from the gov’t than not (I’m including gov’t employees, those living off grants, business running on subsidies, etc.——this is NOWHERE near just a welfare problem).

There is only one chance and hope, secession.

This version of the story all but ignores the 2nd half of the deal, which were large spending cuts.

I always find myself saying the exact same thing about our MISERABLE stoneless United Federation of Teachers president, Michael Mulgrew. How this guy, who was a shop teacher who got caught screwing a married teacher AT SCHOOL, ever got elected to this important office is beyond me. He has worked tirelessly to deliver his constituents on a platter to the little tyrant Mayor Doomberg. He has done nothing to help the senior teachers who are being purged from the system on false charges, schools deliberately being starved of resources so that they will fail and then be closed, etc. so that they can hire noobie teachers at half the price who are then not being given tenure. These noobies are but infantile children themselves, hardly distinguishable from the kids. Mulgrew is only out for himself and so is Boner.

How about "taxing" those EBT's, Welfare Checks, etc.?

Where' the "fair share" the innner-city tribal parasites are sucking off the Taxpayer, while paying NO TAXES AT ALL, AND EVEN RECIEVING "Refunds" for below-poverty-level individuals????

At least Taxpayers would get a small portion of their money back, from the parasites.

Start FOOD KITCHENS, and STOP FOOD STAMPS/EBT'S, and lets really FEED those in need, instead of supplying $$$$ for crack, tattoo's, liquor, cigarettes, Casino gambling, etc.

Take away ANY means of cashing in for parasites, and we'll see who REALLY is sucking our tax dollars out.

Equal Treatment under the Law is a farce, when some payer HIGHER Income Tax Rates, while others pay a lesser percentage, and how this even passes the Smell Test (Progressive Income Taxes) is beyond me. The USSC has it WRONG on somehow penalizing success, while rewarding FAILURE and PARASITIC LIFESTYLES.
