It may not be scientific, but it gets the point across.
This isn’t a funny subject but I am LOL.
The only thing automatic about a rifle is that it ejects the spent cartridge and reloads a new one - but you still have to pull the trigger.
The only auto-shooter is the machine gun.

There are such things as Assault Rifles. They are intermediate caliber, selective fire weapons. The military uses them and modern ones are NOT available for sail to the public (courtesy of the Gun Control Act of 1968, I think).
So, their sale is already unConstitutionally banned.
It is time to ban the possession of weaponry in the hands of government tyrants. The blood of 100 million on their hands and now they want our guns.

There is no need for MORE laws. You already can’t have medium calibre select-fire automatic rifles. There is no such thing as a legal, civilian, so-called ‘assault rifle’. Many are also trying to prohibit pistol-grips or any kind of vertical hand-holds for shotguns or rifles - it makes them ‘look’ too agressive - oh please! Again, there is NO NEED for more laws. This poll is already slanted, thus a waste of time.
In my state, the people who want to restrict ownership of firearms are the same people who gave mental patients drug prescriptions, proclaimed them cured, closed our mental institutions, and turned the crazies out onto the street.
A friend of mine who evaluated mental patients in one such institution passed two of his former patients on the street recently. He was shocked.

Correct me if I am wrong, but, the M-16’s used by the military are not fully automatic firearms.
The current M-16’s (look’s like an AR-15) have a selector switch, This selector switch has 3 positions, SAFE, SEMI (semi-automatic), BURST (3 rounds fired for each trigger pull).
They let Dukakis drive a tank.
