None dared when I first went to school in the little town of Hot Springs New Mexico in the late 1940s because the fact that teachers were armed was highly publicized in local newspapers. When Hot Springs was renamed in 1950, did you and your neighbors like the new name?

LOL - nope, most hated the idea, as my family did. However Ralph Edwards was true to his promise - he brought stars to the place and put on a big show every year - free to all comers. Did it bring attention to the place? I guess... but the eventual outcome wasn’t as great as the promise.
