Founding Fathers Just 'Some Dead People' Spews Ed Schultz in Anti-Second Amendment Rant
NewsBusters ^

Posted on 12/17/2012 6:14:30 PM PST by chessplayer

Remember how liberals feigned reverence for the Constitution during its alleged wholesale destruction while George W. Bush was president? With a Democrat ensconsed in the White House, they are reverting to old habits when it comes to the blueprint for our republic.

On his radio show Friday, Schultz argued with a caller who said he usually agrees with Schultz, citing "socialized medicine" and higher taxes as examples of common ground they share. But the Second Amendment must be protected, the caller said, lest changes to it erode other freedoms enumerated in the Bill of Rights (audio) --

CALLER: From a legal point of view, I'm pro-Second Amendment and the reason why is one of the legacies of our founding fathers is the Second Amendment and we cannot go and do a full-scale overhaul on it because it will let the cat out of the bag, we can now tear into the First Amendment, you know, all the other amendments ...

SCHULTZ (interrupting): OK, all right, let me, let me back up a little bit. Respectfully, the founding fathers aren't here anymore. WE are the founding fathers of this country now. Things change in America. Social mores change, attitudes change, habits change, the way we think change (sic), technology is changing. The idea that we need to be stuck in the mud of a different generation because some dead people think that's the way we oughta live 200 and some odd years later, I'm not there. I'm not there. To paraphrase Gandhi, let the change begin with you, Ed. Seeing how you've often said over the airwaves that you own numerous guns and are an unapologetic hunter -- a "meat and potatoes liberal" -- how about setting an example by surrendering your firearms to the proper authorities? Seeing how those guns might someday be stolen, as was the case with the firearms used in Newtown.

We've all heard of the Buffett Rule, named for the billionaire tax avoider who wants the wealthy to pay higher taxes. Here's to the Schultz Rule, named for the liberal gun-owner who wants other people to relinquish their guns while his remain stubbornly immune from confiscation.

So I guess we should get rid of the 1st amendment and do away with Schultz’s right to free speech as well. After all, the 1st and 2nd amendment were both written by the same old dead people. ;-)

Ed, you ignorant bastard, that is the difference.

The real Founding Fathers, cared about how we would live today.....your disrespect puts you on par with a typical baby daddy.

I'm going to get mine now and the hell with the rest of you and the baby.

Ed’s idiocy is a fully automatic assault weapon.

I don’t think he should have the right to use his mouth any longer.

1st amendment was written by a bunch of dead guys after all.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.

Go right to the source and ask the horse
He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorse.
He’s always on a steady course.
Talk to Mr. Ed.

People yakkity yak a streak and waste your time of day
But Mister Ed will never speak unless he has something to say.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And this one’ll talk ‘til his voice is hoarse.
You never heard of a talking horse?

Well listen to this.

I am Mister Ed.

Why stop at the 2A?

"President" was just a title dreamed up by some old, dead guys.

Just a few of the communist goals covering Well Fed Ed

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

Ed, you dumb c***... You wouldn't have qualified to be Thomas Jefferson's shoe shine boy. Jefferson and the other Founders were GODS compared to you. Any one of them had more knowledge and wisdom in his little finger than you'll ever have if you live for a thousand years. Who cares what you think of them?

Recently I tried that approach on a liberal Rev. They were whining about how unfair the Citizens United SCOTUS case was. They sad that certain people or groups should not have the same speech rights as others.

I asked, well went about if the government wants to per-approve sermons one day. They said that would never happen as it is a Constitutional protected right. Liberals are idiots.

Don’t the Democrats realize that they keep asserting people have all kinds of rights under the Constitution? Like the right to abortion? But gun owners don’t have any rights under the Constitution, even though it’s clearly spelled out.

If the constitution doesn't exist Ed, which is really what you are saying, then the government has no legitimate grant of power and we can simply ignore any further blather from them. That works for me...how about you Ed? I don't think an Anarchy is going to work out like you think it is going to, because people aren't going to have to listen to your ranting without deciding "hey, since there are no more laws what is to stop me from beating the hell out of that annoying loudmouth".

Don't worry Ed I know you weren't actually talking about an anarchy. You want to foster a socialist revolution where the downtrodden prolitariat will overthrow the whatever for whatever. Ironically, as the socialist utopias of the past have shown the usefull idiots are usually the second group of people rounded up and shot.

Either way you are sounding kinda screwed there Ed.

In other words...”You (Idiot) Caller/Americans” when King Obama said he wanted to fundamentally change this Country he meant it! ObamaCare was just the begining. Obama,Reid,Pelosi, and the other idiots on the left see themselves and the “New” founders writing the “New” Counstitution.

Schultz is right.

None of the school killers went to church or synagogue on a regular basis .... We can make the case that the killer's values are the problem. Easy - there have been guns in the country since it was founded, but only school mass murders since liberals replaced church with state...

So, those old dead white men who wrote the Constitution got it wrong. We need to create laws forcing all citizens to attend Church or Synagogue on a weekly basis. Every time there's a mass killing we need to bring up the need for such laws.

When Democrats object to being forced to attend Church we'll tell them Schultz is right. Out with the constitution - in with OUR wishes...

I suspect they'll start caring about the Constitution when they realize both sides can play their game.

Oh, and we must never waste a crisis - they don't - every death is an opportunity to push our 'forced church' agenda...

you'll ever have if you live for a thousand years.

People today like to think that our founding fathers could not have had any intellect
because they were from way back then. Fact is, if they would read the Federal Papers
they would think differently right away, from the first paragraph, from the first chapter.

But in his revisionist world, history didn't begin until he found his echo chamber.
