South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley on Monday announced she will appoint Republican U.S. Representative Tim Scott to the U.S. Senate to replace the departing Senator Jim DeMint, but though he will become the first African American U.S. Senator from the South since Blanche Bruce of Mississippi in 1881 and the only black -- Democrat or Republican -- in the current Senate, neither ABC nor CBS mentioned the news Monday night.
Yes, the newscasts were dominated by the aftermath of the Newtown, Connecticut tragedy, yet the NBC Nightly News managed to squeeze in 24 seconds to note Scotts historic appointment.
Black Republicans don’t exist.
Black voters are historically racist so he won’t get any votes from them in his own home state.
And blacks who are conservatives are “Uncle Toms” in the eyes of the Left and the MSM.
They are still working on a way to spin it in a way that is negative towards the GOP.
Just checked out The Grio, an African-American news website. Commenters are furious, calling Scott a token, a house boy, an Uncle Tom, a sellout, etc. All this after they almost unanimously condemned ESPN’s Parker for saying RGIII is a sellout, and isn’t a “real” black.
Can he form his own Senate Black Caucus?
Sad, but oh so true.
We no longer have a news media. We have various outlets of the Ministry of Propaganda and I wonder how many newsworthy events in general are never reported. We don’t know what we don’t know.
Remember before Michael Steele ran for GOP head, he was pelted with Oreo’s by these oh so tolerant liberal imbeciles.
Therefore, not newsworthy.....
It's called guarding the plantation (or too busy drinking)
Why does this need to be covered for the reason of “race?”
At least the Mexican electorate rebelled with their 321 protests. Until the MSM starts getting trashed they’ll just continue.
ABC...NBC...TYPICAL RACIST NETWORKS...
THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES..DON’T YA THINK?
I am a black Republican. I have been for years. I am not alone, but great effort is spent covering up the fact that we exist. Most of my people are racists. Attribute that fact to ignorance.
From the moment black children enter America’s educational systems they are subjected to a selective history that focuses on the long dead institution of slavery in this country. White liberals convey that message and it is supported by black hustling politicians in the Democratic Party.
Right now any white person walking alone through black neighborhoods like North Central Philadelphia is in grave danger of being assaulted because they are white. (Any one can be robbed, but white skin is inflammatory to too many black hoodlums.
If I sound angry I can assure you that I am. I should underline the fact that my contempt for the liberal policies that are destroying my people can not be adequately expressed here. My description of them would be unprintable.
OOPS SHOLD BE CBS...OH WHAT THE HECK...LETS THROW IN NBC FOR THE HECK OF IT...
You didn’t really miss the point of this did you?
Welcome to Free Republic.
He'll henceforth be referred to as "Uncle Tim" by the media and the libs.
Oh dang. Senator Scott won’t get his fifteen minutes of attention whoredom from the Marxist circus barkers. I am sure he’s heartbroken. Not.
News is, and always was, opinion. Nobody can report everything, after all, andHalf the truth is often a great lie. - Benjamin FranklinBut the real tendentiousness traces to the wire services, principally the AP. The newswire constitutes a continuous virtual meeting of all the major news outlets, and"People of the same trade seldom meet together even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public or some contrivance to raise prices." - Adam SmithBec-use of that constant meeting, the AP long ago produced a conspiracy against the public - in the sense that you cant be in the AP without subscribing to the fatuous conceit that all journalists are objective.
Public credulousness toward that fatuous conceit is the lynchpin of the influence of journalism as we have known it all our lives. And if you think about it, it is inherently impossible for anyone to know that they are objective, and therefore highly tendentious to claim, or belong to an organization which claims for you, that you are actually objective.
It is of course possible, and a virtue, to seriously attempt to be objective - but such an attempt can only begin with openness about the reasons, such as a desire for influence and ratings, why you might not be objective. Because of that requirement, it is obvious that no one can simultaneously claim objectivity and seriously actually attempt to be objective. And the AP has been claiming objectivity since memory of living man runneth not to the contrary.
