When Adam Lanza entered Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday, December 14, inexplicably bent on ending as many lives as possible, he was carrying a Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifle and several high-capacity magazines. Sadly, this isnt the first time the country has had to deal with the aftermath of a horrific shooting spree, nor is it the first time weve encountered an AR-15 in this context: only days earlier, it was the weapon of choice for a shooting at an Oregon mall that killed two people. Five months earlier, it was used by James Holmes in an attack that wounded fifty-eight people and killed twelve in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater. And several years before that, a man and his teenage accomplice used a Bushmaster AR-15 to terrorize the Washington, DC, area with a series of random shootings.
Although it is not yet clear where the Bushmaster AR-15 used by Lanza (and registered to his mother) was purchased, the model is familiar to many Walmart shoppers. Its on sale at about 1,700 Walmart stores nationwide, though the retail chain pulled the weapon from its website early this afternoon. While last weeks deadly rampage in Connecticut has finally and unmistakably highlighted the madness of making these weapons so readily available, its a concern many people with a Walmart in their community have been trying to address for much longer.
Earlier this year, the Rev. Greg Brown had a troubling conversation with two members of his youth group from the northwest side of South Bend, Indiana...

Correct me if I’m wrong, but was not the rifle left in the car? I thought he used only the pistols in his assault on the school children.
As I dig into it I’m finding more and more inconsistencies in this entire Newton event. I’m just sayin...
Zornick sounds like he may be a moron. I sure hope he stays the hell out of Walmart and should not be allowed near any gun store either.
These lying leftist bastards are itching for a war. They will start it but it will not end well foe them.
Molen Labe MFers!
It was in the trunk. But casings were found in the school. He must of put it back after he killed himself.
They won’t let any facts get in the way of their agenda.
so now the crazies are gonna blame Walmart instead of the criminal (or Bush!~????)
I can’t even buy BBs at Walmart here in New Hampshire.
why wasn’t this BUSH’s fault!??????
Lefty article — manages to slam guns and Walmart in the same article.
Now, if he could just find a way to slam those evil SUV’s in the topic, he could claim a lib-trifecta.
I thought the AR was found in the school and the shotgun was found in the car?
It sounds like to me that the fuzz don't want to say anything so the Kenyan and his 'RATS can exploit and milk this thing for all it's worth.
I read the same info - then yesterday I was corrected; the Medical Examiner when he released his report on the shooting made a determination that several children were shot with the rifle ... do you think maybe the rifle got out of the car all by itself and started shooting at people?
The news week is young.
Of course, as any Freeper knows, The Nation isn’t fit for lining bird cages; but, wouldn’t the AR-15 already be the most popular weapon, since it’s the civilian equivalent of the M-16, the rifle of the United States armed forces?
good point. they’ll probably start blaming BUSH in a few days....
Winchester Model 94 30-30
That’s my desire
Well the local Walmarts where I live lock up all of their rifle and pistol ammo. They do have shotgun ammo on the shelves that are not unlocked.
