Texas online gun superstore Cheaper Than Dirt posted on Facebook today:
Cheaper Than Dirt! is suspending online sales of firearms effective immediately. We are reviewing our policy internally, and will continue to be the leader in the outdoor industry with our full line of gear and accessories.
They have also removed all firearms from their website.
Another business capitulates. We don't need gun grabbers when our own side will bend over and do whatever they want. I have spent thousands at CTD but will hold off on any further spending until they do the right thing. Tell them what you think on their Facebook page
businesses continue their financial suicide.
DAMMIT! They’ve received thousands of my dollars, and now they’re capitulating to the socialists? WTF?!
businesses continue their financial suicide.
They’ve always been ripoffs, and now this. Bastards!
They are getting slammed on facebook. Thousands upon thousands of upset customers posting.
F’ing hypocrites. They should just stop selling all firearm related stuff if they’re so concerned. See how long they’ll last. I hope this drives them out of business.
I was just over there, yep, looks like they bit the pillow.
They're acting guilty, so they must have done something illegal.
Is “it” starting?
Their website is SLOW! I have to imagine they’re getting bombarded there too.
Some of the best deals on ammo and parts are on their site. I’ve never purchased firearms from them, but if they cave on arms, they’ll cave when the libs come blasting them over magazines, etc.
Company Lawyers have intervened, no doubt.
No. Buying a weapon through CTD was the same as buying a weapon from a gun shop. You had to have the weapon shipped to an FFL vendor who supplied his license before it shipped. It was then up to the FFL transferor to make sure the purchase proceeded just like in a gun shop.
I’ve heard that this was a hack job by Anonymous. I certainly hope so
Doesn’t make a lot of sense since they still have to ship their guns to local FFLs.
Just sent them an email bidding adios if they choose to NOT support the 2nd amendment. Sometimes you have to be ready for the backlash. Not sure how much of their business was dependent on firearms sales in any case. Don’t think they’ve been doing firearms for that long.
Share the lead.
Hmm, I ordered ammo from them on Sunday and got an email this morning it has been shipped.
I’ve been in their Fort Worth store and it is enormous. Hard to believe they bowed down to Hussein and quit selling guns on line. If you bought one on line, you had to pick it up at a gun store that would check you out on their FBI connection, complete that paperwork.
Maybe people think you buy it on line and they send it through the mail directly to you. That doesn’t happen.
Way to go, CTD!
Class and Bud's are way better, anyway.

Trying to stay ahead of the lawsuits. And they may have an idea of what is coming.
I just emptied all the items in my cart. Bye, CTD.
or they are going to jack up all their prices.
The seller has to ship to a local (to the buyer) FFL (Federal FIrearms License) holder. The buyer goes to the FFL and fills out a 4473 form and goes through the NICS check. Once passed, the buyer pays the FFL a sum for the service and is on their way unless there are additional local or state regulations. The firearm is never sent directly to the buyer.
I need some things for my necessaries bag. I’ve bought a lot of stuff from them in the past, but I won’t give them my business now.
Already sent an email to Cheaper than Dirt & Dick’s Sporting Goods stating I’m done with them and I’ll buy only from 2nd Amendment supporting stores.
They still have black powder pistols listed.....
Bustard is suspending online purchases of anything from “Cheaper Than Dirt!”, effective immediately.
I went over to their FB page, and it was just brutal. I added my comments to the list.
That is the part they are shutting down. They never direct shipped. All to FFLs.
They do it this way. From their website:

Yeah, I know.
Love to see if it’s true...
I was being sarcastic. I was hoping a sarcasm tag was not necessary. Obviously I was wrong.
Black power pistols are not "firearms".
They're "antique firearms" (even if they were manufactured this morning), an entirely different sort of creature. Under federal law, anyway. As such, they are not subject to any of the federal legal restrictions (FFL, NICS check, age limits on purchase, etc) which apply to "firearms".
Of course you are correct...........
I’ve bought from ctd, and I’m surprised to hear this news. Wonder what’s happening behind the scene?
F'n wimps, you'd think Soros bought them out or something.
I think “it” started a while ago, most people just didn’t know it.
my husband just ordered a pistol from them on Saturday, because i said to him, in light of Friday’s tragedy that he better act on it if he wants it bc they would start banning ASAP. he said he had gotten a confirming email later that day, so he’s going to call them about this story. bet their phones are ringing off the hook and that he he will have trouble getting through.
I just noticed that Academy has removed all AR type rifles from their website as well (with the exception of .22 versions).
All of their Red Jacket line has been removed too, clothing, rifles, and handguns.
I tried to delete my account but didn’t see how to do that. If you figure that out, please pass it along.
“Cheaper Than Dirt Suspends Online Gun Sales”
I wanna be part of the story toooooooo!
How about these stupid pr*cks just shut up and wait for this temper tantrum to blow over instead of reacting like a bunch of sissies?
Regarding previous, emailed a friend at Academy HQ. He said they are getting behind the scenes political pressure to ‘shut down sales or you will be shut down’. All major retailers are getting this call.
Someone needs to blow the whistle at what is going on.
I'd go online with that news instead of shutting down.
Totalitarian crap like that needs to be reported.
I’ve never bought a gun from them, but a lot of other items. I don’t understand what the issue is - they can’t ship direct in any case - the transaction has to go through a FFL dealer, along with the usual ID and background check at point of sale.
Kinda sews things up for them as far as any purchasing by me.
Companies that bend to idiot pressure should be termed: “Boehnervendors”.
And should be treated with as much reverence as we treat the RINOdork.
